Judge nothing, Misguided Monk, peace, more listening, Your Hidden Riches, and Abraham

PICK OF THE DAY:

Love the part about us and the common potato :-)

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 -Short and sweet and it fits well with the pick of the day!

# 2 – Also short and sweet….a video titled The Misguided Monk.….

# 3 – Ah so….

# 4 – A thought-provoking post from Tama Kieves along the lines of “less doing, more being”….

The Universe Wants to Talk to You: Do You Want to Listen?

The ego has a thousand goals. Are they really yours?

The fast-track Western world reveres productivity, measured by what we “get done.” But I invite you to consider becoming undone, letting go of ill-fitting self-definitions, freeing yourself from beliefs and patterns, becoming naked, available, and present to your present life. The Universe wants to talk to you. Do you want to listen?

Sometimes you have to stop scoring points in the life you have in order to win at the life you desire.  A Course in Miracles teaches, that “the vision of one world will cost you the vision of another.” Albert Einstein said the same thing: “You cannot solve the problem at the level of the problem.” Are you so busy maintaining the structures of your existing life, that you can’t hear when Great Love is calling your name?

We don’t always realize what we’re not getting done by getting things done.

The other day, I decided to give myself a mini-retreat on my back porch. I’d hurt my neck so I thought maybe I should drop my tasks and spend the day listening to my body and myself. Immediately I heard a perky voice within dictating glamorous, acceptable ways to relax. Maybe you should go to a spa and get a hot stone massage. Hey, you could read that new book about scaling your business. Since you’re not on the computer today, why not organize your meditation space? Even in the domain of my time off, I had a checklist waiting to devour me. I spent the day in a ratty tee shirt instead, “doing nothing,” being, listening, and receiving. It was one of the most productive days I’ve had in a while.

# 5 – Here’s an offer I took advantage of and thought you may want to also. It’s an opportunity to receive a free copy of the upcoming book Your Hidden Riches: Unleashing the Power of Ritual to Create a Life of Meaning & Purpose (a $25 value) by Janet and Chris Attwood, best-selling authors of The Passion Test. You do need to cover postage though….$6.95 in the US, $19.95 international.

The book release isn’t until Oct. 21st, but there are several free items you receive right away….access to Janet’s “I Want for You What You Want for You” Meditations on Love program,  as well as access to a moving video created last year describing prophecies from ancient cultures about our current times called, “An Ancient Message for Modern Times.” Then in September you’ll receive Janet’s newest ebook, “Maro Up! A Japanese Billionaire’s Secret to Success” written with the ‘Warren Buffet’ of Japan, Wahei Takeda. So there’s stuff to keep you busy while you wait for the official release of Your Hidden Riches, which has already gotten advance praise from the likes of Don Miguel Ruiz, Jack Canfield, Dr. Daniel Amen and Mary Morrissey. You can sign up for your free copy here.

# 6 – This reminds me of how they say we try to make God into our image, instead of the other way around….

When that which is god — or that which is that which man wants to call “God” — is being understood by man, man has to translate it into the format he understands. But this Energy, this Source that man is giving the label of “God”, cannot be quantified in anything that man understands. And as man attempts to do it, the distortions are enormous.—Abraham

Self-talk, real heroes, new HWTM series, Super Size Me event, Parenting With Presence, and Abraham

PICK OF THE DAY:

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1- Sometimes I read stuff in the news that makes me ashamed to be part of the human race. Then I read something like this….

http://www.care2.com/causes/dogs-in-frozen-peril-4-amazing-river-rescues-by-heroes-who-cared.html

# 2 – The new season of Healing With the Masters is about to start! This is one of the best tele-seminars series around and always features some great guests, so be sure and sign up. Usually there are some extra bonuses, plus replays of the presentations are available for 48 hrs. afterwards….

You can get more details here.

# 3 – And the 10 year anniversary of the ground-breaking movie Super Size Me is coming up and there’s going to be a free on-line event to mark the date with 30+ experts in the field of health and wellness, plus you get a free download of an e-cookbook. I have already signed up for event and received my cookbook. Can’t wait to try roasted curried cauliflower, dill pate in lettuce wraps, zughetti with pesto, almond flour chocolate chip cookies and more! See my Self-help Health post for details:

http://selfhelphealth.wordpress.com/2014/03/04/free-super-size-me-10-year-anniversary-event-cookbook/

# 4 – And I think this is a great idea! The Shift Network is sponsoring a free event titled Parenting With Presence….

You’re there to experience the irritation, frustration and even anger, when faced with negotiations and power struggles – over everything from homework, to brushing teeth, to bedtime. As a parent, you know the beauty and blessings that your children bring into your life. You also know the challenges that come with raising a child.

That’s why the Shift Network is thrilled to announce the free online Parenting with Presence SummitMarch 18 – 21. They have teamed with Susan Stiffelman – author of Parenting Without Power Struggles and parenting columnist for TheHuffington Post – to bring together 20 of the world’s leading parenting experts and thought leaders to explore how to grow as a parent and raise more joyful, resilient and authentic children.

Get all the details here.

When you register for this free event, you’ll have access to conversations with parents and parenting experts like Arianna Huffington, Marianne Williamson, Jane Goodall, Harville Hendrix, Dr. Daniel Siegel, Dr. Daniel Amen, and many others.

If you are a parent, grandparent, teacher, “Auntie” or “Uncle,” or involved with children in any way, this summit will provide you information that should have come in the “owner’s manual” that you wish accompanied every child – but doesn’t!

# 5  – And some Abe to end on. Abraham brings up a good point with this quote, even though we’ve heard this many times before….focus on what you do want, not on what you don’t. Otherwise it’s that old reverse fascination thing and you often end up actually strengthening the habit you’re wanting to stop….

Those old habits don’t have to be erased, they just become replaced by a new habit that is more in vibrational harmony with who you are and what you want.—Abraham

Enjoy!

Secret of life, Power of Emotions, detachment, Best of Hay House & Money Mindfest, right or wrong, and Abraham

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – Ah, finally the secret of life is revealed….

# 2 – A free video series that sounds intriguing….

It’s a free 4-part video series from Raphael Cushnir, who apparently discovered an open secret at the center of today’s explosion of neuroscience research that has the power to change everything. It turns out that there’s a glitch in the human brain, courtesy of evolution, that causes us to perceive difficult emotions as life-threatening. As a result, we end up blocking the very emotions that we need to feel the most.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that it’s not only possible to rewire this glitch, but simple. Once we do so, we’re able to break through even lifelong blocks regarding forgiveness, career, relationships, health, addiction, and trauma recovery.

His free series is called The Hidden Power of Emotions, and in it he will guide you through the principles and practices required to rewire your own brain. Each is about ten minutes long.

Sounds interesting! I just signed up myself. You can do the same here.

# 3 –  Ah, so that’s it…..

# 4 – Hay House is offering a free series with lots of big names….

This time they’ve handpicked a few of the most popular interviews from some of your favorite Hay House authors in a collection they’re calling “The Best of Hay House World Summit“, which will take place Oct. 12th thru 18th.

AND the World Summit is absolutely FREE.

Also, don’t forget to sign up for the Money Mindfest that I mentioned in a previous post if you haven’t done so already….

Beginning October 21st you get to listen to six days of breakthrough audio sessions of solid and practical advice, techniques, and processes to lessen financial stress and increase your personal wealth. This free series put on my Learning Strategies is called Money Mindfest, and it will be presented by three high profile, successful teachers: JOE VITALE, PAUL R. SCHEELE, and JACK CANFIELD.

“Living the Law of Attraction.” But the news gets even better. In addition to “Living the Law…,, ” you also get free access to “The Abundance Paradigm” by Joe Vitale and “Abundant Money Mindset” by Paul ScheeleDuring the upcoming six-day event, all 3 of these bestselling courses will be streamed to you “on demand,” and at absolutely no cost. Never before have these three top-selling programs been made available for free.
You can sign up here.

# 5 – An insightful, thought-provoking article by Cynthia Torp of World Puja on being “right” and “wrong.” It’s a great lead-in to the the free call she’s offering….

Can Being Willing to Be Wrong Create More For You?

I have to admit, being wrong is not something that comes naturally to me. In fact, I’m not sure it comes naturally to most adults on the planet. But that’s been changing a lot lately. So I thought I’d share what I’ve been looking at around “being wrong”. It has been a fascinating journey.

Whenever I am faced with something that isn’t working for me, I love to start asking questions about it. Even better, I love to ask friends to ask me even more questions about it that I’m not considering. When I discovered how I don’t enjoy being wrong, I realized that it was high time to look at it.

My first question: Was I born this way? Did I come onto this planet with an unwillingness to be wrong? The answer: No, I wasn’t born this way..
Interesting.

Then I thought about how children learn. They don’t get angry or irritated when they make a mistake. They just learn and go forward to new things to learn. And they don’t call themselves “Stupid” or judge whatever they’ve done as anything other than it is: a mistake, or a mis-take …if you will. Their “take” on how things work or should work was different from what other’s take were. That’s all – no big deal. What if I could look at it that simply? What if I could just look at my mistakes as a movie director would and call “Take 2” or “Take 3”, or “Take 9,743”? LOL.

My second question was: What’s the value of being right or wrong? And that one was even more fun to look at. I realized that I’ve been taught the value of being right my entire life. In fact, that’s what changed me from having the Take 2 mentality to the “being right” mentality. Here’s a couple of beauties I picked up along the way: “The more right you are, the more successful you’ll be”. “Being right means you’re smart, and people want to be around smart people”, and “If you’re wrong, you don’t deserve (insert any number of things here)”. Told you it was fascinating.

Now, the rest of the questions came flying out of those last three judgments I’d aligned with. Were any of them true? No. But somewhere I’d been functioning from them or I wouldn’t know them so well. What came next was the desire to search out what was true for me around all of this. Here’s what I came up with…

How many times does having to be right create separation from others? They get to be wrong, you get to be right and all is right with the world, right? Not usually. It usually creates a weirdness for both people. And it often makes the other person, (the wrong one), angry.
How much does fear of being wrong stop us from choosing things? You know that question, “What would you choose if you couldn’t fail?” That’s how we would choose things every day. Let’s try this. Hmmn, didn’t like that. Let’s now try this….take 2 way of doing the world. (Research the story of Edison and the light bulb for a grand example of how this works for inventors.)
How much of trying to be right, or have the right answer has led us to a job or a relationship we never really wanted? I loved this one. Think of all the message we receive about the “right” job, relationship, house, amount of income to have, and more do we function from? What if all of that messaging didn’t matter? And how often does that formula work for us anyway? What if there is no right or wrong choice for you because it’s based on someone else’s judgments?
What if “Being right” or “being wrong” is actually the insanity? What if I could give myself permission to be right or wrong anytime? What if I didn’t even have to distinguish between one or the other? What if they were just what they are and I don’t have to even go to right or wrong. What would being in allowance of myself and others really look like if I let go of this group of beliefs?

Think of how much information babies have to learn about the world in their first year. Their brains process millions upon millions of bits of information. Their brains are actually built differently than an adult brain. They lack neuro inhibitors for one thing. Their brains are wide open pathways of information. In the first year they begin to prune the pathways by adding right and wrong/good and bad information.

What if it didn’t matter whether someone was right or wrong? What if we don’t have to create those labels to choose something different?
What would you choose if you weren’t looking for the right, appropriate, correct, logical, normal, expected thing for you to do today?

If you’d like to be part of Cynthia’s free call: Right or Wrong – or NEITHER!
CLICK HERE. It will be this Saturday morning from 9 to 10 am Pacific.

# 6 – And you know how I like to end the tips with one from Abraham…

Being happy is the cornerstone of all that you are! Nothing is more important than that you feel good! And you have absolute and utter control about that because you can choose the thought that makes you worry or the thought that makes you happy; the things that thrill you, or the things that worry you. You have the choice in every moment.—Abraham

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – Yep!

# 2 – Go here and get a free download of the first 4 chapters of David Cameron Gikandi’s A Happy Pocket Full of Money book. A great read and no sign up necessary.

# 3 – An insightful post about 5 words to erase from your vocabulary…

http://everydaypowerblog.com/2013/05/11/top-5-words-to-delete-from-your-vocabulary/#comment-2539

BTW, I ended up leaving a comment on the page saying I would also add the word “try” to Jeff’s  list….to me it’s a little like “but”…already hedging your bets and paving the way for the possibility of not doing what you’re saying you’re going to try to do.

I would also lump “mistake” in there with “failure.” Will be glad when those two words and point of view start vanishing from our vocabularies and way of thinking. Often what on the surface may feel like, look like, or be judged as a mistake, ends up being something that catapults us forward or causes us to re-align ourselves and change and grow. If we were doing the best we could in the moment, and it (the “mistake” or “failure”) helped us learn what we’d do differently in the future, then is it really a mistake or a choice that brought growth and increased clarity?

Also, someone named David left a comment on the blog that contained a neat tip you may want to try…

“Really great post! Here’s a really cool thing I read somewhere: While saying “I can’t”, do something very simple that you know you can do. For example, hold your breath for 10 seconds, or anything else you CAN do, for a very short time. Then, increase the time, maybe by another 10 seconds, all the while saying “I can’t _____”. It acts like “negative” therapy, and it tricks your brain. After a while, you realize that saying “I can’t” doesn’t really mean anything.”

# 4 – All of you out there that have a message to share may be interested in this innvitation to a free call with Peggy McColl…

YOU’RE INVITED to this free online training event!

Once you’ve gone to all the trouble of writing a book it just makes sense to put in the little extra effort it takes to make it a bestseller. In fact it’s almost ESSENTIAL for anyone hoping to turn their book, their message, into a solid income-producing career of coaching, public speaking, and further publishing success.

You see … a book, by itself, is not a business. But when you can add “best-selling author” to your resume, you throw open the doors of possibility. The trouble is most authors have no clue how to do it! (And don’t expect your publisher to show you – most of THEM don’t know how, either.) But Peggy McColl sure does.

And on Tuesday, May 21st at 2pm or 7pm EST, you can join Peggy as she explains not only how to make YOUR book a bestseller (whether you’ve written it yet, or not) … but also how to use your new bestseller status as a springboard for spreading your message through speaking engagements, coaching programs, and more.…and hopefully make a VERY comfortable living from it, too! (As she does.)

If you’d like to see how it’s done, simply use this link to visit the registration page. (Yes, you do need to register even though it’s free because attendance is limited.)

You’ll also find more details on this event there, too.

Hit #1 spot on Amazon.com!

“Peggy is absolutely brilliant at what she does. She was the lead player in a campaign that saw The Saint, The Surfer and The CEO rise to the #1 spot on Amazon within hours. Listen to what she says — she’s a master.”- Robin Sharma, Bestselling Author of “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”

# 5 – And from Abraham…

“Let your alignment (with Well-Being) be first and foremost, and let everything else be secondary. And not only will you have an eternally joyous journey, but everything you have ever imagined will flow effortlessly into your experience. There is nothing you cannot be or do or have—but your dominant intent is to be joyful. The doing and the having will come into alignment once you get that one down.”

—Abraham

Love and more love, money and fun, first quarter moon, Inspiring Women Summit, and more!

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – Love really IS always the answer…

# 2 – In keeping with the love theme of Tip # 1, here’s a sweet little video about love and paying it forward…

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=320999351353981

# 3 – A great blog post from The Wealthy Spirit author Chellie Campbell that goes along with the affirmation “The more fun I have the more money I make.” Yea, Chellie!

http://chellie.com/blog/?p=5850

# 4 – First quarter moon and other astrological happenings from astrograph.com…

The First Quarter Moon, taking place early on Thursday morning, traditionally marks a time of increased tension and a phase of difficulty in putting our goal kick across the line. This is a time when, on the highway to the fulfillment of our New Moon desire, the rubber truly meets the road; when we get to see the drawbacks and the limitations to our schemes and dreams, and when the seed idea that looked so good in its abstract perfection must be tested, tried and potentially adjusted in the heat of actual circumstance. With this particular quarter moon, each side of the equation is remarkably strong. In this case the configuration involves Mars in conjunction with the Sun, giving us plenty of contentious go power, and also involves an amplification of the disruptive factor of limiting Saturn in contrasting aspect with tricksterUranus, symbolizing both pushing forward and holding back from our original vision. This is also a period when the urge for relationship is strong, now heralded by the entrance a couple of days back of Venus into its own sign of Taurus. As the pattern of tension represented by this quarter moon perfects, Venusstrongly sextiles dreamy Neptune, bringing idealism, as well as the urgency of Mars, to love affairs and partnership activities, while simultaneously closing in on an opposition aspect to the resistance represented bySaturn. At the same time, Mercury begins to closely conjunct the trickster energy of Uranus. The next few days are interesting, as Mercury, the messenger of the gods, symbolizing communication and mental function, merges with the startling enlightenment of Uranus on Saturday, April 20th. Our thoughts radiate out in all directions toward an exciting but uncertain landing place.By Monday, which is also Earth Day, Venus exactly opposes Saturn, representing practical limitations. It therefore becomes more difficult, and also more lasting, to pledge connection to each other. Over the course of these next few days, a value is placed on limitation itself, as meaningfully embodied in the collective focus of Earth Day for the inherent limits involved with mankind’s extended exploitation of the Earth’s resources. The pressure to move forward with our own inner evolutionary agenda becomes intense as well over these next four weeks, as Uranus and Pluto are closing also on their dynamic aspect with each other, in recognizable closeness of intensity, within 2 degrees, as they head toward perfect fulfillment next month. They come into their exact square on Monday May 20th.Thursday’s First Quarter Moon contains some very appropriate markers for our era. As the Sun and Moon collide in their own twice-monthly square, this time at the endings of the Cardinal signs of Aries and Cancer, the Sabian symbols of their pause for recognition are significant, at the 29th degree of their respective signs. For the Sun “A celestial choir, singing” and for the Moon “A muse weighing new-born twins on golden scales” to which Marc Edmond Jones gave the keyword Value — as he identifies this symbol with “effectiveness of judgment irrespective of momentary contradictions on every hand.”The trials and the adjustments to our relationships, and to ourselves, that this crossroads represents are stimulating and also a test of our moral fiber. We are likely to become naturally more aware of where we shine and where, indeed, we are stuck. And this knowledge, like a dual sword, can be difficult and yet also help us to grow in experience, understanding and character. May we be weighed by our higher selves according to our best intentions and not found wanting in the heat of the moment that we now inhabit, we dwellers on the very cusp of massive change.

Suspended coffees, cassava root, vegan tapioca, joy, free shipping and Abraham

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 –  A heart-warming idea where being “suspended” is a good thing. Why not find a place in your area willing to do something like this?!

This story will warm you better than a coffee on a cold winter day:

https://www.facebook.com/SuspendedCoffeess

“We enter a little coffeehouse with a friend of mine and give our order. While we’re approaching our table two people come in and they go to the counter –
‘Five coffees, please. Two of them for us and three suspended’
They pay for their order, take the two and leave. I ask my friend:
‘What are those ‘suspended’ coffees ?’
‘Wait for it and you will see’
Some more people enter. Two girls ask for one coffee each, pay and go. The next order was for seven coffees and it was made by three lawyers – three for them and four ‘suspended’. While I still wonder what’s the deal with those ‘suspended’ coffees I enjoy the sunny weather and the beautiful view towards the square in front of the café. Suddenly a man dressed in shabby clothes who looks like a beggar comes in through the door and kindly asks
‘Do you have a suspended coffee ?’
It’s simple – people pay in advance for a coffee meant for someone who can not afford a warm beverage. The tradition with the suspended coffees started in Naples, but it has spread all over the world and in some places you can order not only a suspended coffee, but also a sandwich or a whole meal.”

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Suspended-Coffees/431946943566996?ref=hl

# 2 – Information about the benefits of cassava root (including treating Alzheimer’s!) and a vegan recipe for tapioca…

http://www.naturalnews.com/039378_cassava_root_tapioca_recipe.html

(I’m thinking I might try the unsweetened vanilla almond milk I use instead of the coconut milk. Will let you know how it turns out. :-))

# 3 – Love it!

“Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.” –Marianne Williamson

“Joy is God talking to you.” –Neale Donald Walsch

# 4 – Yoga Body Naturals is offering free shipping for the next 7 days, so now would be a great time to place an order. Plus, if you haven’t already taken advantage of their free 7-day e-course “Discover the 7 Secrets of Nutrition & Flexibility,”  sign up for that while you’re there.

# 5 – And this from Abraham…

“You’ve trained yourself to face reality. You’ve trained yourself to tell the truth. You’ve trained yourself to tell it like it is. So in the beginning, these fantasies feel a little inappropriate, because it’s like you’re fooling yourself. Sometimes people will say, “Well, isn’t this just denial?” And we say, “We hope so!” We hope that you are denying the absence that you do not want. And we hope that you are embracing the presence of what you do. But somehow the idea of denial has become a dirty word to you; like it is virtuous to face the reality of the horror of your own lives. And we would be ignoring anything that did not please us. We would get our eyes on what feels good.”— Abraham
