PICKS FOR TODAY:
Some feel good moments from 2013….
And some lovely singing set to wonderful images of animals and Nature….
TIPS FOR TODAY:
# 1- What will/could 2014 be like if we all tap into that sense of child-like wonder, plus made an attitude of gratitude our priority for the new year?
Gratitude Practice: Welcome the Wonder by Adela Rubio
Have you ever been smitten by the sight of a child caught in the rapture of wonder? It’s as if their whole being is captured by curiosity. If you notice their body it trembles with excitement and joy, and nothing exists but the object of their attention. Doesn’t the experience of it fill you with anticipation? Aren’t you just a little bit more alivened by their wonder, as if you’ve caught some of it yourself?
Wonder is contagious and it’s an ever expanding experience. The more you have, the more you receive.
What if instead of worrying about your problems you pondered the possibilities? What if you tapped into your inner child and allowed the inherent wonder of Life to infuse your being? How would your world be different if you welcomed wonder and not the worrisome voice of what’s wrong in your world?
The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass,
it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself. —Henry Miller
Your perspective of the world, including your tendency to worry, is a learned experience. You didn’t come in that way. You came in, just like that child, enraptured by the experience of being alive and amazed at the wondrous world around you.
Today, allow yourself to recover your receptivity to awe. Notice everything as if it you were experiencing it for the very first time – your spouse, your children, your work – everything can become magical when you see the spark of specialness eager to be experienced.
Wonder isn’t a happenstance occurrence, it is the very nature of your being. Free your wonder and wake up to the majesty of Life!
# 2- There’s no better time to write a vision than the beginning of the new year, so what are you waiting for?! Read my Visioning page for more about how writing a vision can help you in creating the life of your dreams.
# 3 – Another one from “Abe” that I just love. So good at whittling things down to the nitty gritty and what’s truly important. That last line might make a good mantra for 2014. :-)
Just do your best to keep yourself in balance. One of the first things that causes Energy misalignment, is asking or demanding too much of yourself in terms of time and effort. In other words, you just cannot burn the candle at both ends, so that you are physically tired, and then expect yourself to have a cheerful attitude. So, the rule of thumb has to be: “I’m going to be very, very, very happy, and then do everything I have time to do after that.”—Abraham
# 4 – How perfect that the new moon also falls on the first day of the new year! Here’s an excerpt from an article by Simone Butler at mooncircles.com about this potent cosmic period….
The Capricorn New Moon (Jan. 1, 3:14 a.m. PST) catalyzes a grand cross between Mars in Libra, Jupiter in Cancer, Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. The planets involved represent strong yang forces, intensified by their presence in action-oriented cardinal signs. Do-or-die Pluto conjuncts the Sun, Moon and Mercury and exactly squares headstrong Mars. This forceful call for evolutionary change can prompt a fresh start, but it can also trigger antagonism and impatience if we’re not careful to channel it wisely.
Because this powerful energy colors the entire year ahead, we can expect 2014 to be a magnificent, make-it-or-break-it year. The good news is, if you’re inclined to cut ties with the past, launch new projects or begin running marathons, this alignment will give you the push you need. The bad news is, if you persist in clinging to old patterns or being less than your authentic self, you’re apt to suffer.

And thanks to real estate agent extraordinaire Ron Armstrong for passing this along,….it’s additional information from astrologer Brenda Bush about the new moon period and line-up of big energies …
It is time to set your intentions for this New Moon, plus, since it is the first day of the New Year, it is a good day to make your New Year’s resolutions. This is all with the help of Pluto’s intense focus and Saturn’s discipline. What you wish for you will get with a little hard work and lots of passion.
This Super New Moon brings the greatest power for change and it also brings the greatest instability. The instability forces weaknesses to the surface to bring about the changes that are required. It is a good idea to keep it simple and stay focused on your goals. Holding the energy and focusing into areas that are important for you is the way. The Grand Cardinal Cross is the energy of this New Moon. Cardinal signs represent turning points and a shift in energy. With all four signs activated it brings a force of energy that requires an inner focus. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn are directing your behavior with the qualities of Capricorn. That is to follow your rules, appreciate tradition and do what you know. Mars is in Libra activating our cooperation and social skills. It may also be exposing our weakness or strength in relating with others. Jupiter is in Cancer teaching us about working together. We are not alone. Uranus is in Aries activating that primal energy in all of us to be who we were always meant to be. Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are all the Cardinal signs and as you can see the Planets are positioning themselves in every one of them. You can’t avoid change, so direct it where you want the energy to go. Venus is retrograde in Capricorn at this time bringing to the surface deeper values. No matter what sign you are, this New Moon wants the best from you. We begin 2014 with lots of power to bring changes.
Happy New Year! May you have more peace, more joy, and a greater understanding of your true nature and inherent goodness in 2014!
