TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – Here’s an interesting article from Dr. Nickolas Hedberg about the many benefits of curcumin, many of which I was not aware of until now…

Curcumin:  The Spice of Life

Curcumin is a powerful antioxidant derived from turmeric root used heavily in
traditional Indian cuisine.  Curcumin has a tremendous amount of research behind
it and is one of my favorite natural anti-inflammatories.  But it’s powers don’t
end with inflammation.  Research has shown that curcumin has the following
benefits:

Potent Antioxidant

Bile Support
Enhances bile flow and solubility which is important for fat digestion and
cleansing the digestive tract

Toxic Metal Chelator
Effective chelator of copper and iron

Liver Protection
Neutralizes alcohol and aflatoxin (peanut fungus)

Digestive System Protection & Healing
Heals stomach ulcers, Crohn’s disease and proctitis (inflamed anus)
Reduces leaky gut

Antimicrobial
Antiviral properties for Epstein Barr Virus (causes “mono” and chronic fatigue
syndrome) and HIV (AIDS)
Antibacterial and anti-parasitic (Staph infections, parasites and certain
protozoa)

Protects the Heart
Reduces cholesterol levels and increase protective HDL
Reduces fibrinogen and platelet aggregation (prevents stickiness of blood)

Brain Protection
Reduced brain damage after stroke
Reduces development and regression of Alzheimer’s disease progression (reduces
plaque formation)
Reduces brain tumors
Natural antidepressant

Immune System Regulation
Anti-inflammatory, repairs injuries and joint wear and tear (arthritis)
Reduces allergic reactions and asthma symptoms
Reduces autoimmune activity in rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis
Increase natural killer cell activity
Reduces the spread of cancer in the breast, prostate, colon, pancreas, brain and
ovaries

Curcumin has an advantage over ibuprofen and aspirin because it does not cause
bleeding in the digestive system.  In fact, one study showed that curcumin
actually healed injury to the GI tract that was caused by conventional NSAIDS
(non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).  In combination, curcumin and
resveratrol have been proven to be even stronger anti-inflammatories than
ibuprofen and aspirin.

Curcumin has been studied extensively in human clinical trials at the M.D.
Anderson Cancer Institute in Houston, Texas.  These studies found that curcumin
was safe for patients under-going chemotherapy and does not need to be avoided.
In fact, it was found to enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy.

Curcumin and other plant-derived compounds have been shown to work
synergistically with Vitamin D3.

How should you take curcumin?

If you are currently taking Inflameric that I have prescribed then you are
already receiving a nice dose of curcumin.  For curcumin by itself I recommend
C3 Curcumin Complex from Moss Nutrition which is concentrated to contain 95%
curcuminoids.  The crystalline structure of curcumin renders it difficult to
absorb in the GI tract so lecithin was added to this particular product to
enhance absorption.  I recommend taking curcumin with a meal that contains fat
or with fish oil to further support absorption.

Turmeric root powder contains only 5-7% curcumin so simply adding this spice
will not have the same therapeutic effect as taking it as a supplement.

There is no upper level of toxicity established for turmeric or curcumin.  I
recommend 400mg/day and a maximum of 1200mg/day for more severe conditions.
Curcumin is not recommended during pregnancy, if you are taking blood-thinners,
or with gall stones.  Curcumin does inhibit the growth of the beneficial
bacteria lactobacillus so supplementation with a probiotic is necessary when
taking curcumin.

# 3 – Here’s part of a blog post by Chellie Campbell I found very insightful and entertaining. Actually I feel that way about almost all her posts, so I recommend checking out the rest of this one and getting on her mailing list for more…

In the pause as they wrote down all this information, I laughed deprecatorily and said, “I myself know nothing. I just know people who know.”

I never forgot the businesswoman’s response. She said, “Ah. A true leader.”

One of the definitions of the word “lead” is “to show the way.” You don’t have to know the way yourself. You just have to know who knows.

Today, take time to ponder. Mumble if you must. Then delegate.

Today’s Affirmation: “I am a leader and a way-shower. I help all around me find the right path.”

I love this graph of success – one of my Facebook friends posted it yesterday. Isn’t that just the way the road of life goes? All twists and turns and detours and do-overs, backward and forward, up and down, sideways and everywhichways.

When you’re in the tangle of it all, you sometimes despair and sometimes celebrate, but you’re always moving on.

# 4 – Here’s a link to an article by Paul Fassa from the Natural News newsletter about the benefits of lactoferrin in connection with reversing osteoporosis…

# 5- And a little wisdom from Abraham to end on…

“Just do your best to keep yourself in balance. One of the first things that causes Energy misalignment, is asking or demanding too much of yourself in terms of time and effort. In other words, you just cannot burn the candle at both ends, so that you are physically tired, and then expect yourself to have a cheerful attitude. So, the rule of thumb has to be: “I’m going to be very, very, very happy, and then do everything I have time to do after that.”

Enjoy, “Zippy”

I am a 21 yr. old Victoria's Secret model with an IQ of 278 and was recently featured on the cover of a Fortune 500 magazine as the world's first bizillionaire.....:-) Oops! Guess that was in a past life. In THIS lifetime I am the author of two books, one on effective visioning and Self-awareness, and the other on detoxing the body and improving overall health. I've also spent some time dabbling in watercolors, putting together two websites (www.allonetogether.com and www.evolutionmadeeasier.com) on conscious living, writing two blogs (Evolution Made Easier and Self-help Health), and doing several types of energy work. Yadda, yadda, blah, blah. :-) Anyway, I love when I find some new teaching, inspirational quote, enlightening information, health-promoting protocol, or other resource that ends up having a positive impact on my life. And I really enjoy passing along my "finds" so that others might benefit from them as well. In fact, that's the main reason I created my websites and blogs. So I hope you enjoy and make use of the information, articles, videos and other resources I'm drawn to share. And may it all somehow support you in creating a happier, healthier, more abundant life for yourself and those you care about! Visit Zirah (B. L.)'s profile on Pinterest.
