TIPS FOR TODAY:
# 1 – For some stimulating information about the US radiation monitoring
system, read this eye-opening, mouthing opening article featured in the Natural
EPA RadNet radiationmonitoring system exposed as poorly-maintained, improperly-calibrated failure
#2 – I highlighted the hazards of CFL bulbs in a previous post. Here are two excerpts from articles that update and expand on the situation…
- CFLs emit “dirty energy” that produces radiation that has been linked with migraine
headaches, sleep abnormalities, fatigue, and other health defects while the flickering of fluorescent bulbs causes dizziness,
headaches, weakness and illness in some sensitive people. And recently, a study
conducted by Peter Braun at Berlin, Germany’s Alab Laboratory found CFLs to
give off chemical vapors that are linked to cancer.CFLs also contain mercury, a neurotoxin that can damage the brain, liver,
kidneys and central nervous system. As long as the mercury is contained in the
bulb, CFLs are safe. But eventually bulbs break or burn out, even long-lasting
CFLs. When they do, “consumers simply throw them out in the trash,” said Ellen
Silbergeld, a professor of environmentalhealth sciences at Johns Hopkins University and editor of the journal Environmental Research. And this can have a collective effect on landfills once they start failing in large numbers. What can consumers do?
Philips may have solution with the EcoVantage, a new line of incandescent light bulbs that, using halogen elements, provide energy savings of about 28 percent compared to conventional incandescents. According to a report from Sustainable Life Media, this meets or exceeds efficiency standards established in the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007.
While not as efficient as compact fluorescent or LED bulbs, which supposedly
reduce energy use by up to 80 percent but are expensive, the EcoVantage is
likely to appeal to consumers unhappy with the quality of light of the more energy efficient models.
The new EcoVantage bulbs will be available exclusively at Home Depot. Learn
- Peter Braun, who performed the light bulb tests at the Berlin’s Alab Laboratory, said: “For such carcinogenic substances it is important they are kept as far away as
possible from the human environment.”CFL bulbs are already widely used both in the European Union and in the United
States. Thanks to a call by the EU government to phase out incandescent bulbs by the end of 2011, many households have converted to carcinogen-producing CFL’s under the guise of saving the planet with the “environmentally-friendly” bulbs. The health consequences of such widespread use are currently unknown, as the
results will only come with time. With an excess of cancer-causing chemicals
being pumped into the average household, an explosion in already-skyrocketing cancer rates may be the result. Despite the research coming out over the
negative health effects of the bulbs, The Department for the Environment still
insists that they are perfectly safe.On The Department for the Environment website it states: “Energy efficient light bulbs are not a danger to the public.”
Thanks to alternative news pushing the dangers of CFL’s into the mainstream,
and this vital new research, a growing number of people are recognizing the
dangers associated with using them. This leads the population to look for alternatives, as with any product that consumers do not want to purchase. The problem is, however, that government regulations threaten the consumer’s ability to purchase traditional incandescent bulbs that do not leak carcinogens into the air. Congress passed a law in 2007 mandating that bulbs producing 100 watts of light meet certain standards, which conventional light bulbs do not. The law goes into full effect by 2012, with California already banning stores from restocking on 100-watt incandescent bulbs. It seems that the other option — besides hoarding
incandescents before they are banned — is to purchase a new brand of LED
bulbs. The bulbs will cost $50 each, and they will escape the federal ban
due to being energy-efficient by the standards of the new law.
These LED bulbs may be more efficient and do not contain harmful substances,
but they simply are not affordable for the majority of consumers worldwide.
Government regulations have driven consumers to begin purchasing light bulbs
that will endanger their health and quite possibly give them cancer, as the alternatives may not be economically viable. While it may not be a simple issue to remedy, one thing is for sure: the health of the nation should not suffer due to poorly designed light bulbs that contain known carcinogens.

# 3 – Here’s an insightful article about the upcoming Gemini New Moon and other astrological happenings that is being featured on MoonCircles.com…
“The pain pushes you until your vision pulls you.”– Rev. Michael Beckwith
Much of my newly inherited home is about to be demolished. A building inspection revealed toxic mold, and I was advised to leave before I became sick. The remodeling
process I’d hoped would happen in manageable phases is descending all at once.
I’m trying to keep my head on straight and enlist the right helpers, while receiving
a crash course in the intricacies of mold remediation, plumbing and electrical
On bad days, when I awaken at 4:30 a.m. with a pounding headache, I step outside for some fresh air and remind myself that, “This too, shall pass.” Soon, my vision of transforming my 1952 family home into a Mexican Mid-Century “villa” will come to pass. Meanwhile, this security-oriented Cancer is relocating nearby to supervise from a safe distance.
Welcome to eclipse season! And it looks to be a doozy. The June 1 partial solar eclipse in jumpy Gemini (2:03 p.m. PDT) gets things going, followed by a total lunar eclipse in Sagittarius on June 15 and another partial solar eclipse in Cancer on July 1. Eclipses are
known for bringing abrupt change, especially when they hit sensitive points in your chart (for example, the June 1 eclipse activates my Ascendant, point of physical self and location).
Adding to its catalytic potential, this eclipse series occurs during the final, Universal
Underworld of the Mayan Calendar. During this Ninth Wave (March 9 to Oct. 28),
according to Carl Calleman, time is accelerated 20-fold; we’ll experience the same amount of change as occurred from 1999 until a few months ago. Consciousness is rapidly evolving as dimensions merge and a new world is born. It’s our choice: adapt and flourish or resist and suffer.
Does something in your life need dramatic improvement? Since eclipses break
through stagnant patterns, now’s the time to align with the incoming energies
and make a change. Gemini promotes rapid-fire learning. Though this mental air
sign tends to be all over the place, a stabilizing trine from Saturn in Libra
to the June 1 New Moon eclipse helps to ground our visions so they can take flight.
If we stay focused, we can ride these energies like a hawk navigating strong winds.
However, because the Sun (masculine impulse) is eclipsed by the Moon (feminine
intuition) at the June 1 New Moon, we may feel as if we’re flying blind. This
sensation is intensified by Neptune (dreaminess) turning retrograde in square
to Mercury (the mind) on June 2. We may doubt our direction or second-guess
ourselves. Yet Saturn’s trine to the Sun and Moon says: Trust your intuition,
take action and things will work out–even if unpredictably.
On June 4, giant Jupiter enters practical, earthy Taurus. It’s time to get real about our
finances and figure out how to live sustainably on the Earth. Bringing special
blessings to those with prominent Taurus placements, this one-year cycle is
good for investing in land and developing realistic and artistic ventures.
Also, no-nonsense Saturn turns forward June 12 in Libra (good news for those
with strong Libra or Capricorn!), helping business affairs get going again. Add
to that a powerhouse lunar eclipse at the Galactic Center on June 15 that will
bring vital news and shifting points of view. And, the seasons change on June
21 as the Sun slides into sensitive Cancer at the Summer Solstice. It should
be quite a month.
Rapid-fire change can evoke the best or the worst in us. Even if we don’t know what to do
next or feel antsy and on edge, inquisitive Gemini reminds us that there is something to learn from pain as well as joy. Hold fast to whatever grounds you, from yoga practice to yard work. In these extraordinary times, we’re called to rise up into our highest selves, spread our wings and find the courage to fly!

# 5 – Here’s an invitation and information from Peter Bissonette at Learning Strategies…
shift global consciousness
from instability and
to balance, cooperation,
and enduring peace
We’ve launched a brand new initiative with Jeddah Mali, creator of Seeds of
Enlightenment, and we invite you to participate as our guest at no charge.
The next event is Thursday, June 2, at 2:00 pm Central Time. You’ll be able to listen to a recording at any time.
Once each month we will focus our collective energy on global care – again at no charge—following this format:
1) A five-minute opening conversation.
2) A five-minute process to focus our hearts and amplify our collective intent.
3) An optional 20-minute meditation for when you have time.
Join us at www.BeGoodToOurEarth.org
Simply come to this webpage at the appointed time, log in, and join others in a meditation for the care of our planet. Best of all, you’ll see your position on a map of the world, and you’ll see where everyone else is, too, focusing their energy on the exact same purpose. You can even upload a photo of yourself. It is very cool!
Each session will be conducted live at 2:00 pm Central Time on the first Thursday of each month. Jeddah and I really hope you will join us.
If you cannot make the session live, you may listen to a recording of the most recent session at any time. Because there is great power in focusing collective energy toward a common cause at the same time, try to make one of the following times, which are at six-hour intervals after the live session:
This is a huge global effort, we know. And we’re beginning now. One person at a time. If we had 300,000 people online for one session we would have an instant, palpable effect on the world. Help us reach that many people. Invite your friends. And be online next Thursday at 2:00 pm Central Time. We’re doing it free to make it easy for you—for everyone—to say yes.
Please sign up today! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
# 6 – And a little Abraham to end on…
“That “death do us part” thing is a protective mechanism. It says, “I don’t trust me, and I don’t trust you to be in a place where we are evoking the best from each other. And so, just to make sure, let’s promise that even if we don’t, we’ll suffer it out together.” Every law, sacred or secular, that we have ever seen in your environment has always come from a place of disconnection, from a place of protectiveness.”—Abraham
