Aquarius New Moon & other astrological updates

TIPS FOR TODAY:

Here are several articles on the new moon and other astrological events…

#1- The first is from shamanic astrologer Tami Brunk and includes her perspective on current world events…

This week, like so many of you, I have been riveted to the screen, watching history unfold before my very eyes as the people of Egypt rise up against their corrupt government, demanding change.

Uranus plays a key role this year as it moves into Aries, crossing the Spring Equinox point of 0 Aries several times in 2011. The uprising in Tunisia, now in Egypt and potentially across the Middle East represents revolution and change at a level beyond comprehension.

Though we can’t know the outcome of these events, we can choose to activate, pray for, hold a space for the best possible outcome for Egypt, and for the rest of our global family including ourselves. We can send our support for the people’s passionate impulse toward liberation, freedom, and self actualization, even as we send light and protection to those who are most vulnerable in times of change.

The U.S. is currently in the midst of a Saturn Return cycle, which began in December and will continue through September. It is time for us to look deeply at our soul as a nation, to remember the promise and potential at the root of its inception (the radical notions of liberty, pursuit of happiness, equality, freedom of religion, etc.) and to ask how we can begin to re-enliven those potentials within our own lives and communities.

It is time for us to mature as a nation. Part of this, with Saturn in Libra, and the Uranian energies at play, has to do with our need to change the way we relate to the rest of the world. Imagine how it would feel to live up to our potential as a nation and as individuals–supporting and energizing freedom and well being for all people, in the ways they choose to claim it for themselves.it for themselves.

Week of February 1 to 5

New Moon in Aquarius Chinese New Year and Imbolc

Tonight’s New Moon in Aquarius is a very special one–as today we also celebrate the Chinese New Year-the Metal Rabbit.  It is also the Celtic cross quarter holiday of Imbolc which, like Groundhogs Day reminds us to invoke and begin to celebrate the first signs of spring. This year my partner and I are observing the Chinese New Year by clearing and renewing our intentions around relationship, spiritual life, and prosperity. I see it as another opportunity for a “reset point”-I am more prepared for it now than I was for the Gregorian New Year.

With the New Moon in Aquarius we are reminded to take a step back our “middle world” anxieties and mind chatter. Take a deep breath. Tonight, as close as possible to 7:30 MST, when the New Moon is exact, take the time to meditate. Perhaps you will want to make a simple Imbolc altar with a red and/or white candle and a green plant, or plant with green leaves and a white flower-something to invoke the Sun of spring (Red), the white of snow, melting (white) and the green of new life (green).

I suggest meditating before setting your intentions so as to allow yourself some spaciousness and separation from your daily routine. In this meditation you might wish to imagine your spirit lifting out of your body and circling far above the Earth, to look at your life from this distance-from a place that is closer to the mind of God. As you observe yourself and your life from this detached and bigger perspective, experience a sense of relaxation into Great Mystery.

We don’t have to control everything, manage everything. Something Aquarius can teach us is a profound sense of trust in the unfolding of life, that at the Spirit level all is always well. Now return to Earth holding that feeling of spaciousness within your consciousness; savoring it.

As you open your eyes you may wish to observe the flame of your candle and give gratitude for the flame of life that ignites your body, and the flame of Sun that ignites our Earth body with life, warming our days as we approach spring.

Of course, as is always true with the New Moon cycle, you can do this ceremonial work for several days surrounding the exact New Moon.

Venus enters Capricorn

Also on Thursday, the Sacred Feminine, i.e. Venus moves into the sign of Capricorn as she continues her descent into the Underworld.  As I see it, since November all of us have, at some level, been experiencing release and clearing habits and patterns in:

·         Our manner of approaching the Divine (7th Chakra)

·         Our intellect and intuition (6th Chakra)

·         Our truth and the capacity to speak it (5th Chakra)

All of this is being accomplished through the Sacred Feminine-which is Spirit moving through the Earth experience, or matter.

Venus in the overtone sign of Scorpio catalyzes an initiation cycle to reclaim our personal power in alignment with the organic pulse of the Earth itself.

We can surrender to all the ways life is helping us clearly identify, feel, and release our barriers toward this alignment with Earth cycles. With Capricorn involved, we can know that our willingness to engage this process means claiming our role as emerging elders in service to the Circle of the Grandmothers-and to new human laws and institutions in harmony with life on Earth.

Aquarius New Moon: Call and Response
by Dana Gerhardt

It’s another new moon: when the magically minded make wishes and astrologers attempt to divine this cycle’s intentions. But fates are personal. Even if a new moon chart could be forced to describe them all, no single astrologer could tell that many stories. The wishes you make now may indeed be super-powered, but if you don’t have a strong relationship with the archetypes, don’t expect special favors. If you rarely visit your eccentric Aunt Ella, don’t expect her to gift you with an iPad on your next birthday. New Moons are potent times to forge alliances with the gods. Visit the invisible world. Bow and open yourself to their touch. Make an offering. Humans have been rendezvousing with these archetypes for thousands of years. When you call out to the gods, they do respond!

Calling Aquarius

People say Aquarius the Water Bearer was actually human. He was a shepherd named Ganymede, who was so gorgeous, Zeus spirited him to the heavens to serve the thirsty gods water and wine. But this isn’t the full story. He was also a radical, always disturbing the village. He was teaching the sheep how to climb trees. While his sister was sleeping, he dyed her hair purple and blue. Afternoons he served fortitude tea to the crazy woman everyone hated. She adored his inventions: a thorn-bush goblet-scrubber, sandals-on-wheels, a wooden cart with wings, an eyepiece that revealed the fish on the Moon, and finally, a catapult that carried his resume to the heavens. He wanted to serve in a big way. Zeus hired him to be the gods’ water bearer, until Aquarius devised an ever-flowing water urn out of stars, leaving him free to pursue other ambitions.

Often, when Aquarius visits, he acts like a teenager. He rolls his eyes a lot, always hates what I like, spends hours locked in his room. He’s constantly texting, updating his Facebook profile, or watching YouTube videos on his iPhone. At first I thought Aquarius disapproved of me. Then I discovered the notes he left in all my favorite places. Some contained a quietly brilliant idea to make my life better. Others posed a question so startling, my world spun. Twice he shared visions of my future in such detail I believed they would actually come true. He’s a good friend now. His face betrays little emotion, but he’s very compassionate. He cares more about the word’s wellbeing than anyone I know. He loves this season, when the snows melt and it rains on Saturdays. When the clouds break, he takes me to an orchard of dead-looking trees and points out the tiny buds sprouting on the branches. His eyes are always looking to the future.

Honor Aquarius this month by breaking out of your box. Awaken from the midwinter slumber of your limitations. Your inner genius is ready for a revolution. Aquarius is THE cycle to raise your energy. In fact that’s the best way to call in Aquarius: Liberate yourself! Is there someplace you’ve been feeling stuck? If you’re not living the life you want, Listen. What has your spirit been longing to do? No sign has a greater connection to the future than Aquarius. It rules progress, innovation and breakthroughs. But first you’ve got to clear out all the musty, droopy, angry, wimpy, static energy of the recent past.

The inner and outer spaces mirror each other. If your work has been uninspired, rearrange your office and throw out old papers. If family relationships are not as harmonious as you like, give your home a top-to-bottom cleaning. A simple ritual for this New Moon is to become your own Water-bearing Angel. Fill an atomizer or spray bottle with energetically charged water. Charge the water by placing a crystal in it for at least 24 hours (before that, clean the crystal by soaking it in a bowl of salt or under the sun’s rays). If you’re familiar with Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work, you know that writing positive intentions on the water bottle (“grace,” “radiance,” “fertility,” “passion,” or “peace”) will further charge the water molecules. Dip a sprig of pine in the water to double its energetic potency. Pine is purifying–it smells clean too! On the day of the New Moon, visit all the rooms in your house and mist them with your ritual water. You should notice the difference instantly! Enjoy the newly charged air. Be alert. New inspirations may come pouring in.

Aquarius’s Response

Waiting for the response is the fun part. No way can I predict it for you. But if you’re edgy, itchy, and irritated, know that you’ve been touched. If you find yourself shouting “No!” to something you’ve tolerated too long, Aquarius may be prodding you. Or you might be suddenly inspired to figure out all those gizmos you’ve received as gifts—like your latest palm device. Or perhaps you’ll be moved to bring your home into the twenty-first century with a new appliance or two. Aquarius is THE cycle to upgrade your life. Take advantage of the latest technologies. Gadgets may seem like a tame way to celebrate this brilliant deva-but they are potent emblems of the possible human and its divinely inspired capacities. With a palm device you can instantly connect with the world. With your Aquarian genius, you might log onto the brilliance of the universe.

I am a 21 yr. old Victoria's Secret model with an IQ of 278 and was recently featured on the cover of a Fortune 500 magazine as the world's first bizillionaire.....:-) Oops! Guess that was in a past life. In THIS lifetime I am the author of two books, one on effective visioning and Self-awareness, and the other on detoxing the body and improving overall health. I've also spent some time dabbling in watercolors, putting together two websites (www.allonetogether.com and www.evolutionmadeeasier.com) on conscious living, writing two blogs (Evolution Made Easier and Self-help Health), and doing several types of energy work. Yadda, yadda, blah, blah. :-) Anyway, I love when I find some new teaching, inspirational quote, enlightening information, health-promoting protocol, or other resource that ends up having a positive impact on my life. And I really enjoy passing along my "finds" so that others might benefit from them as well. In fact, that's the main reason I created my websites and blogs. So I hope you enjoy and make use of the information, articles, videos and other resources I'm drawn to share. And may it all somehow support you in creating a happier, healthier, more abundant life for yourself and those you care about! Visit Zirah (B. L.)'s profile on Pinterest.
