The Divine Masculine, an inspirational video, and over 900 free gifts!

PICKS OF THE DAY:

#1- To be honest, I’ve always been a little put off by all the New Age emphasis on “goddess energy” that most of my female friends embraced. It often seemed like they were trying to off-set the dominance of masculine energy in a way that was  “throwing the baby out with the bath water” and very polarizing–instead of working to bring a sense of balance and marriage to the two energies. I finally found an article by Julie Umpleby titled In Defense of the Divine Masculine that seemed to perfectly express what I’d been thinking and feeling all these years. The only thing I would add to her article is that, at least in my perspective, the real evolutionary shift is in realizing that polarities may be an inherent part of life in the 3rd dimension, but in reality we are all One.

In Defense of the Divine Masculine by Julie Umpleby

So much of the new Age movement is heavily invested in connecting us with the Goddess, The Divine Feminine and the great mysterious power of our feminine energy. I’m not saying that this isn’t a good idea, however too much of a focus on just one aspect without its polar opposite results in an imbalanced perspective.

The truth of the situation as we go hurtling towards massive transformation and change on our amazing planet, is that we absolutely do need to recognize and allow for the emergence of the magical feminine energy. This is our link to the creative aspects of the Source, the Universe or whatever you wish to call it. However, we also need to enable and support the transformation of the current expression of the masculine into its Divine, higher expression. One cannot exist without the other, and what our deepest self wants is the harmonization and transformation of both.

The ideal would be to release the inspiration and spiritual connection of the Divine Feminine from its subjugated slumber, whilst engaging in the alchemical transformation of the masculine to enable the realization of mankind’s deepest dreams. As long as we deny either one, we will find ourselves adrift in a polarized situation that serves neither ourselves, nor the greater good of humanity. As the Light needs the dark in order to be recognized as light, so too do we require the active presence of both masculine and feminine in our life.

When we give precedence to the goddess, we may find ourselves opening up to creative realms that we previously had either ignored or had no access to. There is a power and magic in connecting with the celestial realms of angels, ascended masters and higher ‘light beings’. There is a very real risk however, in us becoming ungrounded, or unable to actually utilize the information or guidance received in our physical domain. The feminine connection is usually made through the right brain, which takes us into a realm of feeling, emotion, symbols, newly discovered psychic abilities and abstract thoughts and ideas. If we enter into these realms without an anchor or level of discernment that is provided by the left brain/masculine energy, we open ourselves up to everything that exists there. And it’s not all love and light, no matter how much we may want it be.

So often, when we begin to access the dimensions of the divine feminine, we leave behind all sense of rationality and place all our faith just one aspect of who we are.

On the flip side of this coin, we see all around us the effect of an all pervasive masculine energy, left unguided or unchecked and in total denial of Spirit. We see clashing egos, territorial disputes, scientific arrogance and all out greed and grasping by (largely) male dominated corporations and governments. Women or those in female embodiment moving into these arenas, have largely adopted the same approach as the men – their masculine energy has become dominant over their internal feminine stream.

Over centuries the real feminine energy has become more and more suppressed, until those embodied in female form learned to fear their own inherent power as much as those in masculine embodiment did. The overall effect has been one of gross imbalance which quite clearly is still in force today. There is no doubt that the world requires not only more respect for the wisdom of the feminine, it also is in dire need of transformation of the current expression of the masculine energy into its higher form.

While the Goddess and Divine Feminine movement has allowed for the gradual uprising and recognition of the beauty and sacred connection of the feminine (most often embodied by the female), all too often it is in its own denial of the beauty and benefits that the Spiritualized masculine energy can bring to the party.

We are talking about a supreme and Higher Form of Balance and it begins with ourselves. We have both masculine and feminine within each of us, and it is through acknowledging and working with both that we will bring a new level of order to our lives.

The reformed or resurrected divine masculine brings a vital, fiery, active energy that enables and supports the active expression of the creative feminine in life. The indigenous cultures know this, and honour the feminine through their ritualistic practices. These often involve journeying, dreamtime, vision quests, observation of moon rituals and many more. The active male energy however, has a huge respect for the information gleaned this way, and acts upon it in such a way that all within the group benefits. Often this requires great courage, steadfastness of vision and a willingness to take action on the guidance received.

The goddess and divine feminine movement has largely confined itself to the exploration of hidden realms, but without the full participation of the divine masculine within themselves. An example of this is the fearful response of many on the ‘spiritual path’ when anything related to the dark is mentioned. I have heard so often, the oft-touted tenet that “what you focus on becomes bigger, therefore I don’t do dark”. The mysteries of the feminine and deep creativity are actually born of the dark. It is the courage, strength and surety of the masculine energy that facilitates us accessing the darkness for the hidden treasures. It is the critical thinking capacity of the left brain (masculine) which gives us the ability to face, discern and judge all that lies within the dark. Along with the mysteries of creation, so too does our own shadow dwell in darkness. How can we possibly ignore or deny its presence?

Our masculine energy allows us to truly face into our fears and shadows. It supports our ability to make choices and act on them.

Emancipating the feminine does not mean giving up the ability to think critically and analytically. It does not mean retreating into a dreamy world of guides, celestial beings and light forms. True freedom comes from being fearless in the face of perceived negative darkness and holding a stable and balanced position from which it can be dealt with. Our sovereignty as spiritual beings in human form, requires us to embrace all that we are. To do this, we need to retrieve our power from the negative masculine fear and control that is external to us and bring that energy within for transformation.

Only with the internal co-operation of both aspects of our energy forces will we regain control over ourselves and perhaps bring positive change in the world. We can ‘intend’ for things to be different, but without focused will, attention and action to sustain the intention, our efforts will be minimal.

What is needed is to be fully in alignment with the positive feminine and masculine, the heavenly and earthly. When we can hold these in a balanced space within, then we will be better equipped to bring forward all that is good from our past in order to create a more harmonious future.

#2 – And here’s the daily quote I received from Abraham. As always, words of wisdom…

“Our Source Is One of Love, Not Condemnation… When you pay attention to the way you feel, and deliberately choose more thoughts that feel good while you think them, you will begin to recognize the nature of your Broader Non-Physical desires. The majority of negative emotions that you feel are not because the subject of your thought is wrong, but instead, because you are condemning something that your Source does not condemn. Your Source is one of love, not one of condemnation.”— Abraham

PICK OF THE DAY:

Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of The Emotion Code, included two articles in a recent newsletter that I found very informative and eye-opening. One is about Neotame (a new version of aspartame), and the other article is about MSG, which I was amazed to find out can go by a variety of names and be in a lot of products you’d never suspect. Fascinating reading, and actually pretty scary, but they say we “have nothing to fear, but fear itself.”

To counter-act any “scare factor” the articles might engender, I thought it would be great to end on the Abraham quote I received today in my in-box. It makes a perfect antidote…

“My Imagination Attracts All Cooperative Relationships… You have the power to evoke from others the relationships that you desire. But you cannot get to a new-and-improved situation by giving your attention to the current situation. The Universe, and all physical and Non-Physical players in it, is responding to the Vibrations that you are offering; and there is no distinction made between the Vibrations that you offer as you observe, and the Vibrations that you offer as you imagine. . . . If you will simply imagine your life as you want it to be, all cooperative components will be summoned. And even more important, all components that are summoned will cooperate. It is Law. The experience that you have with others is about what you evoke from them.”— Abraham

#3 – Here’s the latest astrological update from shamanic astrologer Tami Brunk…

Week of January 18 to 22

The 13th Zodiac Sign

Last week I received a lot of emails from people about a recent article that received a great deal of media attention regarding the “13th Zodiac Sign.” This issue comes up every few years and causes an uproar, is discounted, then shows up again. Basically, here’s the issue that is overlooked in the article and others like it–there is a difference between the zodiac signs and the constellations.

This article describes the Shamanic Astrology perspective. The Shamanic Astrology Mystery School (SAMS) logo shows the current difference between the location of the Zodiac signs and Constellations–as this is an integral understanding for Shamanic Astrologers.

Mercury Conjunct Pluto

Near midnight Tuesday, Mercury was conjunct Pluto. Through today, we may find ourselves tuned into the darker dimensions, or shadow material of our lives, and the world around us. This is nothing to fear–as we move into our hearts, slow down, be with and move through our feelings, we can experience a great deal of personal healing and gain greater compassion and presence to our lives.

In my last astrology report for January 3-8, I wrote of the need to limit exposure to negative news and events outside of our control, and to focus instead on what we can directly influence. I felt torn after sending it out because while I DO feel that an overload of certain kinds of news/information can diminish the quality of our lives; a fundamental aspect of my spiritual practice is to try to “be with” both shadow and light. I strive to cultivate the courage to walk into the dark places and see the light and love within.

I also believe deeply in taking action in those places where we can to affect positive change, both local and global. Yet I feel it is vital to have compassion for the overwhelm we feel due to the rapid influx of information and the rate at which change is happening in our lives and world. It is all too easy to become fragmented, ungrounded, and ineffectual if we do not tend to our spiritual core and strength, and continue the practice of moving from our overextended minds to our bodies, hearts, intuition, and spiritual guidance systems.

There is no one “right way” to navigate troubled waters in our lives and world. Sometimes it is right for us to seclude ourselves and gain back our core strength. At other times we feel the clock ticking and know we must shake off the dust and courageously step out into the big world as the loving, heart-centered, Spirit-guided warriors that we are. Many of us are learning to move more gracefully from one dimension to the other in our daily lives.

Mars in Aquarius

Last week Mars moved from Capricorn into the sign of Aquarius. Over the past months I have seen tremendous growth and change within the men in my life. It’s almost like a light has turned on, and suddenly men are coming together for support, reaffirming their own unique masculinity, facing their wounds, daring to be vulnerable; waking up.

The awakening of higher consciousness within the Divine Masculine is beautiful to behold. With Mars still in the Underworld until February 22nd the growth is often prompted by Underworld experiences where men are facing their greatest fears and surrendering to a Death and Rebirth process of some kind.

Full Moon in Cancer

This afternoon we experience a Full Moon in Cancer. The exact time is 2:21 MST, and of course we can observe it from Tuesday through Thursday, a 3 day window. Questions to ask ourselves on a Cancer Full Moon include: how am I caring for and nurturing my inner child or the vulnerable, sensitive, feeling part of me? Have I been creating a safe space for beloved aspirations, projects, creations–so that they can come into their fullness?

Make a list of the beliefs, habits, stories, and recurrent thoughts that short-circuit or actively sabotage the goals and dreams you are currently attempting to gestate and birth. Now create a ceremony where you can burn them and as you do, feel your renewed strength, vitality, and passion-ready to be activated to manifest your most cherished intentions.

Jupiter enters Aries

On Saturday morning Jupiter re-enters the sign of Aries where it will remain through early June. When Jupiter is in a sign, it expands its presence in the world. So we are each given a large dose of Aries energy throughout the spring. Aries is brilliant at being in the moment, sparking change and growth, and acting from intuition. Infused with Aries energy, our lives take on the quality of newness, of exuberance, of gratitude for being alive. We feel a growing innocence and fresh, personal power, moving us toward whatever cause or mission makes us feel most alive, and most aligned with our soul purpose.

The 13th astrological sign?

TIPS FOR TODAY:

Here’s an interesting and stimulating article from astrologer Elizabeth Jones of Astrology of Light on the “13th sign” Ophiuchus

Ophiuchus~The “Sign” of Things To Come?

January 13th, 2011

The article recently circulating the web about there actually being 13 signs of the Zodiac is certainly causing a lot of stir. I have heard from so many of you that I decided to stop everything I was up to and address the issue, at least chime in with my thoughts on the subject.

First, the information presented in this article is not a new finding at all and in fact Astrologers, and others, have known about it for some time (here’s a good article by Amy Herring  in 2007. So why all the hoop-la now?  http://tinyurl.com/4oszc9y

The Sacred Twelve
The twelve signs of the Zodiac have meaning at many levels. The order they are in tell one story. The way they are grouped into their respective elements of fire, earth, air and water speak to another and the modalities to yet another (Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable).

In all this is found the far-reaching nature of Divine Order. Many centuries of study, observation and use have validated this, and if one were to take the time to genuinely study Astrology they would find this to be true for themselves. So I am not ready, or even close, to saying to my clients “Welcome to your new sign”.

That “13th Sign”
There is this 13th constellation between the signs of Scorpio and Sagittarius, there’s no denying it. Ophiuchus is a man holding a snake above his head. Scorpio has as one of it’s symbols a snake, representing the kundalini which resides at the base of our spine, and that when awakened rises up the spine and as it does, brings us closer to Truth, self-awareness and ultimately enlightenment.

As I said, the existence of this constellation, and most importantly its key placement in the Zodiac, has been known for a while. So why is it such a big deal now? Why are so many asking what does it mean? Other papers and articles have been written on this before—why the considerable attention at this time?

The Collective Psyche Speaks
In the world of symbolism, it has been found that popular symbols arise when the collective psyche resonates with their meaning.

What could Ophiuchus, a man that takes a snake and rises it to the heavens while holding it in both his hands, be telling us? (Actually, the foot of Ophiuchus is on the back of the Scorpion in the constellation of Scorpio—interesting symbolism here in and of itself.)

He is a Greek man of myth, who can stand on a Scorpions back, as he lifts the snake to the Heavens above both of these constellations. What an image to behold.

I find myself asking, is he inviting us to do this, too?

Could the fact that we are collectively fascinated with Ophiuchus be suggesting that we are entering a time, an age, when we will be able to raise the snake, the life force, above our heads (mind/body) so that we may have a more direct/conscious relationship with the Divine force within? And is the fact that Ophiuchus has so powerfully entered our mainstream awareness a sign of the acceleration of evolution of mankind that so many are feeling and talking about as a result of this potential?

Stay with me here and let’s imagine for a minute it is. How might this happen? I find it curious that Ophiuchus doesn’t actually fit in between the constellations of Scorpio and Sagittarius but rather overlays them on the ecliptic. Could it be that the collective journey to higher consciousness will be, at least in part, a result of a Scorpio and then Sagittarian experience? (We all have every sign in our own chart—all 12, or well 13, of them.)

Scorpio has rulership over the deepest parts of our inner landscape and rules the process by which we delve deep within to the underworlds of our being (Hades in Greek mythology), discover what is hidden there and then retrieve it, which facilitates the transmutive, even alchemical, process of growth and renewal.

In Sagittarius we seek to consciously incorporate this profound experience into our being. At first, we strive to better understanding the experience. As we do, it becomes a new aspect of the basis for our knowing and then as we incorporate into our actions, it becomes wisdom. That is, if we are to use the gifts that this sign offers us.

I realize these are complex concepts and ideas and certainly don’t believe for a minute I have any definitive answer here. The reality is that Astrology is a complex body of study. It is why we Astrologers get a bit miffed when someone comes along and debunks it without ever actually studying it. (That’s kind of like saying “I don’t like abalone” without ever trying it.)

So, what does all this mean to you and me?

I have been talking and writing for a while now about the significance of both Jupiter and Uranus being together at the last part of Pisces. And how this is an opening to higher, spiritual information. Perhaps the entry of Mr. Ophiuchus into our culture in such a pronounced way is a sign of the shifts at hand.

For now, if this idea resonates with you, that we are collectively awakening to having a more conscious experience of and relationship with the Divine nature (the snake as kundalini) then that is perhaps enough. If this seems foreign and unfamiliar to you, well I may offer that the process has really just begun. Even if such matters have been openly discussed for decades (this is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius and all that), I believe we are talking about things that occur over rather long periods of time.

Yet, even hearing this, even opening an iota to the possibility that we can know with greater conscious awareness this aspect of what is Divine within, plants a seed in our individual and collective psyches. And for that, I thank the great snake handler in the sky named Ophiuchus, and for his “overnight” popularity via the World Wide Web, even amongst confusion. At least it got us asking “what’s it all about?”.

Many blessings to you on this path of awakening,

Elizabeth

PICKS FOR TODAY:

#1- Yoga Body Naturals is launching a new product and, while supplies last, offering a FREE sample of it (you just pay for shipping & handling). It’s called Yoga Water-e and is their new electrolyte formula that’s meant to be added to your drinking water—it’s been shown to make it 43% more hydrating than just plain bottled or tap water. I just took advantage of the offer myself, plus got some of their Flexibility Supplement at a major discount. I’ve been on their mailing list for awhile and have enjoyed the free e-course and other free things they offer, so I figure this is a way I can give some of their other products a “test run” without having to spend much. This link takes you directly to the yoga water offer (it it’s still available!)

#2- Of course I’m probably biased, but I think the Free Stuff Guide is something almost anyone could benefit from. It literally saves you time and money and contains page after page of websites and resources offering free e-books, e-courses, tele-seminars, subliminals, and more–all geared toward helping you experience a happier, healthier, more abundant life. The newly expanded 2011 version is “hot of the presses” and available free as a pdf file by sending an e-mail to info@allonetogether.com with “Free Stuff Guide” in the subject line.

And finally, here’s some words of wisdom for the day from Abraham…

“Let your dominant intent be to feel good which means be playful, have fun, laugh often, look for reasons to appreciate and practice the art of appreciation. And as you practice it, the Universe, who has been watching you practice, will give you constant opportunities to express it. So that your life just gets better and better and better.”— Abraham

Simple “trick” to improve meditation and other practices, plus health article on maple syrup

PICKS FOR TODAY:

#1 – The Mind-Body Training Company is offering a free report titled “The Unexplored Parallel: One Simple Trick To Supercharge Your Results With The Law Of Attraction, Releasing & Any Self-Growth Technique!” Phew! That’s a long title, but the explanation of what you need to do is “short and sweet.” I just finished reading the report myself and I thought it was really insightful, straight-forward and gives you an easy way to get improved results from meditation and other practices.  I recommend you check this out here.

#2 – I’m always looking for healthier alternatives to refined sugar and had always considered using maple syrup as one option, along with stevia, agave, xylitol and brown rice syrup, but, wow, I didn’t realize it had as many benefits as it does until reading this article from Natural News by Carolanne Wright. Now I see why it’s used as a major component in the famous Master Cleanse recipe…

(NaturalNews) A recent study found over 20 compounds in pure maple syrup that support health, 13 of which are first-time discoveries. Several of these new compounds exhibit anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, and anti-diabetic properties. Maple syrup also has a powerful vitamin and mineral profile which furthers its health promoting capacity.

According to an article in the Science Daily, the study took place at the University of Rhode Island with Navindra Seeram who specializes in medicinal plant research. His aim is to educate the public about the benefits of diverse plant and berry foods along with natural products.

Seeram explains the research on plant antioxidant compounds:

We know that plants must have strong antioxidant mechanisms because they are in the sun throughout their lives. We already know that berries, because of their bright colors, are high in antioxidants.

Now we are looking at maple syrup, which comes from the sap located just inside the bark, which is constantly exposed to the sun. We speculated that the sugar maple is wounded when it is tapped for its sap, and that it secretes phenolics (a type of beneficial antioxidant also found in berries) as a defense mechanism.

As seen in the Journal of Medicinal Food, maple syrup has been shown to prevent diabetes and is a potent ally in slowing cancerous cell growth. Maple syrup has high levels of phytohormone and abscisic acid. These compounds encourage the release of insulin and improve the insulin sensitivity of fat cells which helps to combat metabolic disorders such as diabetes. A study at the Universite du Quebec a Chicoutimi revealed that maple syrup may be more effective against brain, prostate, and lung cancer than broccoli, blueberries, carrots, and tomatoes. Laboratory research shows that, due to its concentrated form, maple syrup is more potent than maple sap with pure dark syrup noted as best.

Providing even more health benefits, maple syrup is nutrient rich in thiamine, manganese, and zinc. Adequate thiamine (B1) is essential for proper cardiac function, prevention of cataracts, and Alzheimer’s disease. Thiamine also reduces the effects of aging and encourages proper digestion. Manganese is linked to energy production, proper thyroid function, sex hormones, balancing blood sugar levels, and the absorption of calcium. Manganese is also a strong antioxidant, protecting against free radicals in the body. One ounce of pure maple syrup provides 46 percent of the daily value of this essential mineral. Zinc helps protect the heart, controls diabetes, aids in wound healing, and helps to alleviate the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. Both manganese and zinc are powerful immune response boosters.

With a multitude of beneficial qualities, pure maple syrup excels a sweet choice for supporting abundant good health.
