Growth, yummy cauliflower, your song, money and fun, and Abraham

PICK FOR THE DAY:

TIPS FOR THE DAY:

# 1 – Some great looking and sounding recipes using cauliflower….

http://www.rawfor30days.com/blog/2-scrumptious-new-ways-to-eat-cauliflower/

5/4/13 Note: I tried the 1st recipe the other day and loved it…ate the whole thing in one sitting. The “sauce” is great….could be used on a variety of things or as a salad dressing, especially on a nice, crisp spinach salad. Next time I will make a double recipe!

# 2 – A great tradition! May we all remember our song and find people who are willing to sing it with us, to us, and for us!

A Child’s Song By Alan Dana CohenThere is a tribe in Africa where the birth date of a child is counted not from when they were born, nor from when they are conceived but from the day that the child was a thought in its mother’s mind. And when a woman decides that she will have a child, she goes off and sits under a tree, by herself, and she listens until she can hear the song of the child that wants to come. And after she’s heard the song of this child, she comes back to the man who will be the child’s father, and teaches it to him. And then, when they make love to physically conceive the child, some of that time they sing the song of the child, as a way to invite it. And then, when the mother is pregnant, the mother teaches that child’s song to the midwives and the old women of the village, so that when the child is born, the old women and the people around her sing the child’s song to welcome it. And then, as the child grows up, the other villagers are taught the child’s song. If the child falls, or hurts its knee, someone picks it up and sings its song to it. Or perhaps the child does something wonderful, or goes through the rites of puberty, then as a way of honoring this person, the people of the village sing his or her song. In the African tribe there is one other occasion upon which the villagers sing to the child. If at any time during his or her life, the person commits a crime or aberrant social act, the individual is called to the center of the village and the people in the community form a circle around them. Then they sing their song to them. The tribe recognizes that the correction for antisocial behavior is not punishment; it is love and the remembrance of identity. When you recognize your own song, you have no desire or need to do anything that would hurt another. And it goes this way through their life. In marriage, the songs are sung, together. And finally, when this child is lying in bed, ready to die, all the villagers know his or her song, and they sing—for the last time—the song to that person. You may not have grown up in an African tribe that sings your song to you at crucial life transitions, but life is always reminding you when you are in tune with yourself and when you are not. When you feel good, what you are doing matches your song, and when you feel awful, it doesn’t. In the end, we shall all recognize our song and sing it well. You may feel a little warbly at the moment, but so have all the great singers. Just keep singing and you’ll find your way home. —

# 3 – In my 4/18 post I inadvertantly used the link in Tip #2 again in Tip # 3 as the link to a great article by The Wealthy Spirit author Chellie Campbell on money and fun.

I’ve since corrected the error, so people visiting that page now will be directed to the right place. But I wanted to be sure that those of you who viewed the page previously had a chance to read it, too, so am using it as a tip again today. Plus, it ties in so nicely with today’s Abraham quote (Tip # 5)!

# 5 – Joy your way to joy!

“Life is supposed to be fun. You said, “I’ll go forth and choose. I’ll look at the data, and I’ll say yes to this and yes to this and yes to this; and I’ll paint a picture of the things that I want, and I’ll vibrate about them because that’s what I’m giving my attention to. And the Universe will respond to my vibration. And then I’ll stand in a new place where a whole new batch of yeses are available, and I’ll say yes to this and yes to this and yes to this.” You did not say, “I’ll go forth and struggle into joy,” because from your Nonphysical Perspective you know it is vibrationally not possible. You cannot struggle to joy. Struggle and joy are not on the same channel. You joy your way to joy. You laugh your way to success. It is through your joy that good things come.”— Abraham

Love and more love, money and fun, first quarter moon, Inspiring Women Summit, and more!

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – Love really IS always the answer…

# 2 – In keeping with the love theme of Tip # 1, here’s a sweet little video about love and paying it forward…

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=320999351353981

# 3 – A great blog post from The Wealthy Spirit author Chellie Campbell that goes along with the affirmation “The more fun I have the more money I make.” Yea, Chellie!

http://chellie.com/blog/?p=5850

# 4 – First quarter moon and other astrological happenings from astrograph.com…

The First Quarter Moon, taking place early on Thursday morning, traditionally marks a time of increased tension and a phase of difficulty in putting our goal kick across the line. This is a time when, on the highway to the fulfillment of our New Moon desire, the rubber truly meets the road; when we get to see the drawbacks and the limitations to our schemes and dreams, and when the seed idea that looked so good in its abstract perfection must be tested, tried and potentially adjusted in the heat of actual circumstance. With this particular quarter moon, each side of the equation is remarkably strong. In this case the configuration involves Mars in conjunction with the Sun, giving us plenty of contentious go power, and also involves an amplification of the disruptive factor of limiting Saturn in contrasting aspect with tricksterUranus, symbolizing both pushing forward and holding back from our original vision. This is also a period when the urge for relationship is strong, now heralded by the entrance a couple of days back of Venus into its own sign of Taurus. As the pattern of tension represented by this quarter moon perfects, Venusstrongly sextiles dreamy Neptune, bringing idealism, as well as the urgency of Mars, to love affairs and partnership activities, while simultaneously closing in on an opposition aspect to the resistance represented bySaturn. At the same time, Mercury begins to closely conjunct the trickster energy of Uranus. The next few days are interesting, as Mercury, the messenger of the gods, symbolizing communication and mental function, merges with the startling enlightenment of Uranus on Saturday, April 20th. Our thoughts radiate out in all directions toward an exciting but uncertain landing place.By Monday, which is also Earth Day, Venus exactly opposes Saturn, representing practical limitations. It therefore becomes more difficult, and also more lasting, to pledge connection to each other. Over the course of these next few days, a value is placed on limitation itself, as meaningfully embodied in the collective focus of Earth Day for the inherent limits involved with mankind’s extended exploitation of the Earth’s resources. The pressure to move forward with our own inner evolutionary agenda becomes intense as well over these next four weeks, as Uranus and Pluto are closing also on their dynamic aspect with each other, in recognizable closeness of intensity, within 2 degrees, as they head toward perfect fulfillment next month. They come into their exact square on Monday May 20th.Thursday’s First Quarter Moon contains some very appropriate markers for our era. As the Sun and Moon collide in their own twice-monthly square, this time at the endings of the Cardinal signs of Aries and Cancer, the Sabian symbols of their pause for recognition are significant, at the 29th degree of their respective signs. For the Sun ”A celestial choir, singing” and for the Moon ”A muse weighing new-born twins on golden scales” to which Marc Edmond Jones gave the keyword Value — as he identifies this symbol with “effectiveness of judgment irrespective of momentary contradictions on every hand.”The trials and the adjustments to our relationships, and to ourselves, that this crossroads represents are stimulating and also a test of our moral fiber. We are likely to become naturally more aware of where we shine and where, indeed, we are stuck. And this knowledge, like a dual sword, can be difficult and yet also help us to grow in experience, understanding and character. May we be weighed by our higher selves according to our best intentions and not found wanting in the heat of the moment that we now inhabit, we dwellers on the very cusp of massive change.

 # 5 – The Shift Network is sponsoring another free tele-summit

Suspended coffees, cassava root, vegan tapioca, joy, free shipping and Abraham

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 –  A heart-warming idea where being “suspended” is a good thing. Why not find a place in your area willing to do something like this?!

This story will warm you better than a coffee on a cold winter day:

https://www.facebook.com/SuspendedCoffeess

“We enter a little coffeehouse with a friend of mine and give our order. While we’re approaching our table two people come in and they go to the counter -
‘Five coffees, please. Two of them for us and three suspended’
They pay for their order, take the two and leave. I ask my friend:
‘What are those ‘suspended’ coffees ?’
‘Wait for it and you will see’
Some more people enter. Two girls ask for one coffee each, pay and go. The next order was for seven coffees and it was made by three lawyers – three for them and four ‘suspended’. While I still wonder what’s the deal with those ‘suspended’ coffees I enjoy the sunny weather and the beautiful view towards the square in front of the café. Suddenly a man dressed in shabby clothes who looks like a beggar comes in through the door and kindly asks
‘Do you have a suspended coffee ?’
It’s simple – people pay in advance for a coffee meant for someone who can not afford a warm beverage. The tradition with the suspended coffees started in Naples, but it has spread all over the world and in some places you can order not only a suspended coffee, but also a sandwich or a whole meal.”

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Suspended-Coffees/431946943566996?ref=hl

# 2 – Information about the benefits of cassava root (including treating Alzheimer’s!) and a vegan recipe for tapioca…

http://www.naturalnews.com/039378_cassava_root_tapioca_recipe.html

(I’m thinking I might try the unsweetened vanilla almond milk I use instead of the coconut milk. Will let you know how it turns out. :-))

# 3 – Love it!

“Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.” –Marianne Williamson

“Joy is God talking to you.” –Neale Donald Walsch

# 4 – Yoga Body Naturals is offering free shipping for the next 7 days, so now would be a great time to place an order. Plus, if you haven’t already taken advantage of their free 7-day e-course “Discover the 7 Secrets of Nutrition & Flexibility,”  sign up for that while you’re there.

# 5 – And this from Abraham…

“You’ve trained yourself to face reality. You’ve trained yourself to tell the truth. You’ve trained yourself to tell it like it is. So in the beginning, these fantasies feel a little inappropriate, because it’s like you’re fooling yourself. Sometimes people will say, “Well, isn’t this just denial?” And we say, “We hope so!” We hope that you are denying the absence that you do not want. And we hope that you are embracing the presence of what you do. But somehow the idea of denial has become a dirty word to you; like it is virtuous to face the reality of the horror of your own lives. And we would be ignoring anything that did not please us. We would get our eyes on what feels good.”— Abraham

TIPS FOR TODAY:

#1 – It’s hard to outdo Mother Nature…

# 2- In my 9/6/12 post I included a link to an article about coconut oil and dental health and speculated that using coconut oil for a routine called oil pulling would be a good idea. This article confirms that I was on the right track and I’ve been using the protocol on a regular basis lately. What’s nice is oil pulling has so many benefits!

# 4 – An insightful, inspiring, entertaining video on Gratitude, Gifting and Grandpa

# 5 – You can now get the Emotion Code Starter Kit (an $85.95 value) for free!
This is something I “paid good money for” when I began learning the energy process a number of years ago, so I highly recommend taking advantage of this offer. Also, if you’re interested in scheduling an Emotion Code/Body Code session (the process works as well remotely as in person), just let me know.
# 6 – An insightful article about Aquarius and the upcoming new moon…
By  at mooncircles.com· February 6, 2013

It’s another New Moon! The wishes you make now may indeed be super-powered, but if you don’t have a strong relationship with the archetypes, don’t expect special favors. If you rarely visit your eccentric Aunt Ella, don’t expect her to gift you with a new iPad on your next birthday. New Moons are potent times to forge alliances with the gods. Open yourself to their touch. Bow and make an offering. Humans have been rendezvousing with these archetypes for thousands of years. When you call out to the gods, they do respond.

Calling Aquarius

People say Aquarius the Water Bearer was actually human. He was a shepherd named Ganymede, who was so gorgeous, Zeus spirited him to the heavens to serve the thirsty gods water and wine. But this isn’t the full story. He was also a radical, always disturbing the village. He was teaching the sheep how to climb trees. While his sister was sleeping, he dyed her hair purple and blue. Afternoons he served fortitude tea to the crazy woman everyone hated. She adored his inventions: a thorn-bush goblet-scrubber, sandals-on-wheels, a wooden cart with wings, an eyepiece that revealed the fish on the Moon, and finally, a catapult that carried his resume to the heavens. He wanted to serve in a big way. Zeus hired him to be the gods’ water bearer, until Aquarius devised an ever-flowing water urn out of stars, leaving him free to pursue other ambitions.

Often, when Aquarius visits, he acts like a teenager. He rolls his eyes a lot, always hates what I like, spends hours locked in his room. He’s constantly texting, tweeting, updating his Facebook profile, or playing with the apps on his iPhone. At first I thought Aquarius disapproved of me. Then I discovered the notes he left in all my favorite places. Some contained a quietly brilliant idea to make my life better. Others posed a question so startling, my world spun. Twice he shared visions of my future in such detail I believed they would actually come true. He’s a good friend now. His face betrays little emotion, but he’s very compassionate. He cares more about the world’s well-being than anyone I know. He loves this season, when the snows melt and it rains on Saturdays. When the clouds break, he takes me to an orchard of dead-looking trees and points out the tiny buds sprouting on the branches. His eyes are always looking to the future.

Honor Aquarius this month by breaking out of your box. Awaken from the midwinter slumber of your limitations. Your inner genius is ready for a revolution. Aquarius is the cycle to raise your energy. In fact that’s the best way to call in Aquarius: Liberate yourself!  Is there someplace you’ve been feeling stuck? If you’re not living the life you want, Listen. What has your spirit been longing to do?  No sign has a greater connection to the future than Aquarius. It rules progress, innovation and breakthroughs. But first you’ve got to clear out all the musty, droopy, angry, wimpy, static energy of the recent past.

The inner and outer spaces mirror each other. If your work has been uninspired, rearrange your office and throw out old papers. If family relationships are not as harmonious as you like, give your home a top-to-bottom cleaning. A simple ritual for this New Moon is to become your own Water-bearing Angel. Fill an atomizer or spray bottle with energetically charged water. Charge the water by placing a crystal in it for at least 24 hours (before that, clean the crystal by soaking it in a bowl of salt or under the sun’s rays). If you’re familiar with Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work, you know that writing positive intentions on the water bottle (“grace,” “radiance,” “fertility,” “passion,” or “peace”) will further charge the water molecules. Dip a sprig of pine in the water to double its energetic potency. Pine is purifying–it smells clean too! On the day of the New Moon, visit all the rooms in your house and mist them with your ritual water. You should notice the difference instantly! Enjoy the newly charged air. Be alert. New inspirations may come pouring in.

Aquarius’s Response

Waiting for the response is the fun part. No way can I predict it for you. But if you’re edgy, itchy, and irritated, know that you’ve been touched.  If you find yourself shouting “No!” to something you’ve tolerated too long, Aquarius may be prodding you.  Or you might be suddenly inspired to figure out all those gizmos you’ve received as gifts—like your latest palm device. Or maybe you need a new appliance or two.Aquarius is THE cycle to upgrade your life. Take advantage of the latest technologies. Gadgets may seem like a tame way to celebrate this brilliant deva-but they are potent emblems of the possible human and its divinely inspired capacities. With a palm device you can instantly connect with the world. With your Aquarian genius, you might log onto the brilliance of the universe.

# 7 – And from Abraham…

When people ask us how long does it take for something to manifest, we say, “It takes as long as it takes you to release the resistance. Could be 30 years, could be 40 years, could be 50 years, could be a week. Could be tomorrow afternoon.”— Abraham

# 5 – Here’s something from the folks at Mind Valley about your chakra system that you might want to check out…

Active meditation is a great way to overcome the resistance within your mind, but the truth is that your mind is only one part of a larger energetic ecosystem.  And if any part of this system is weakened or blocked, it can interfere with your ability to get the most out of your meditation practice.

Your 7 Chakras are the main energy centers within your body and any of them are potential areas where energy can get stuck and stagnate.

So how do you know which parts of your system are tripping you up?

>>> Try this quick quiz from Energy Therapist Carol Tuttle

In just 3 minutes, she’ll help you find which of your chakras are blocked or weakened.

Meaning you’ll be able to see exactly how each of your 7 Chakras could be helping – or hurting – your meditative flow, right now.

Animal friends, letting go of fear and drama, Jupiter direct, The Power, and world changing ideas! Woo-hoo!

TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – For you animal lovers, here’s a great PBS Nature video about unlikely friendships between animal species (FYI, there are a couple of short breaks w/ commercials for the movie Les Mis, but you get some great music that way :-))…

# 3 – A good read from the I AM Learning Community about letting go of fear and drama…

# 4 – An astrology update from Chris Flisher (www.chrisflisher.com) about Jupiter going direct, and at the same time  all the other planets are direct as well (a pretty unusual event!)…
Week of January 28, 2013

This week, the wise and powerful Jupiter stations direct for the first time since October 4, 2012. It’s been a while and we should all be happy to see it moving forward. Retrogrades are a part of life, just like setbacks, so who isn’t happy to see them move forward? Where is Jupiter in your chart currently? That is where you’ll likely see optimistic movement. When the energy turns and surges forward we begin to see action and expansion once again. This is a part of the natural sway of life events. This also brings into focus the favorable connection between Jupiter and Uranus. As such, these two planets bring their own different characteristics to the conversation. However, when working together they also provide a backdrop for positive and progressive types of events and these are welcomed by all.

How does this work for you?……See video for extended forecast for planet.

# 5 – One of the most inspiring and encouraging things I’ve read lately! Hope you take the time to read it as well…
# 6 – And I don’t know how long this will be available, but I was able to download a free copy (MP3) of Rhonda Bryne’s The Power, the follow-up to The Secret

# 7 – Insight into the Cancer full moon by April Elliott Kent of mooncircles.com…

Cancer Full Moon: The Bottom Line, by  · December 25, 2012

Capricorn, the sign that rules business and worldly achievement, is sometimes uncharitably described as cold and pragmatic. Not that all Capricorn people are that way, of course; far from it. At its best, Capricorn is the kindly, sensible patriarch that guides us to achievement and to being our best selves. But each sign has its shadow side, and bottom-line pragmatism is certainly the archetypal province of Capricorn. Think of Scrooge, and of Mr. Potter from “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Or the CEO who engineered an acquisition of the company where you work, and promptly discontinued the pension plan, slashed benefits, and fired ten percent of the work force. If a business practice doesn’t improve his bottom line, such a person can’t comprehend how it could possibly contribute to his success.

But the Full Moon in the domestic, nurturing sign of Cancer reminds us that there are all kinds of ways to be successful, and not all of them can be measured with a calculator. Consider my favorite eatery, a small, family-owned restaurant that has been a mainstay of our neighborhood for nearly four decades.

When we moved into our first home together, my husband and I soon joined the legions of enchilada addicts who regularly flocked to the tiny, dingy restaurant down the street. Aside from the extraordinary food, which would keep us coming back no matter what, this is the only restaurant where I’ve ever really felt at home. As long-time regulars, my husband and I are accorded the respect and affection of that status. We walk in the door and are greeted warmly and led to our favorite table; within minutes, our favorite drinks are on the table and our order has been placed for us. When we go there, we feel like family; and based on the number of familiar patrons we recognize each time we visit, we’re part of a fairly large clan.

It is, in short, an institution. In an industry that sees many more failures than successes, it’s no small feat to keep a restaurant open, let alone thriving, into the next generation. I don’t pretend to know how they do it; I only know how I feel when I go there: I feel like a person, not a figure on someone’s balance sheet.

Apparently, so do the staff, who tend to stay for a good long time. Part of what keeps them there, I imagine, are person-friendly business practices. For instance, the restaurant is closed every Sunday. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve found ourselves geared up for a tasty lunch, gotten all the way to their front door, and remembered too late that it was Sunday – el restaurante estaba cerrado. Their doors are also shut each year for the entire week between Christmas and New Year’s. I’m sure there were times, especially early on, when the owner’s bottom line suffered as a result of these decisions. But to him, Sunday and Christmastime are for spending time with family, not for working.

Family, community, and tradition are the soul-nourishing province of Cancer, the essential counterpart to Capricorn’s desire for worldly achievement. Our favorite eatery has succeeded for largely Cancerian reasons: great food, a nurturing atmosphere, great location, and a younger generation that has taken an interest in the family business. We’ve watched the owner’s children grow up, and it was a bit of a shock when, a couple of years ago, they took over the business. We watched warily as they undertook a major remodel, expanding the restaurant and opening an outdoor seating area. We wondered if our favorite waitresses would disappear, or whether the marvelous uncle who cooks our favorite enchiladas would retire along with his brother. Perhaps – horrors! – the kids would even decide to keep the place open on Sundays! Would our beloved haunt still feel like home?

Well, things are a little different there now. The remodeled interior is beautiful, but unbelievably noisy, thanks to stylish concrete floors and high ceilings. Many of the older waitresses have moved on. But the new patio seating area is a dream, our favorite place in the world to sit and have a meal. One of the New Guard has become our all-time favorite waitress, and we still get the same warm attention when we walk through the door. The food is exactly the same – delicious – and you still can’t get it on Sunday, or during the week after Christmas.

A few days ago, drafting my resolutions for the new year, I found myself thinking about this restaurant and about the other businesses I enjoy patronizing. They all have a couple of things in common. First, they shared a warm, welcoming spirit that makes me feel appreciated. And second, every one of them is wildly successful by standards that would impress even the flintiest Capricorn. They include a hairdresser who is booked a month in advance; a mechanic who is so busy he had to rent a new building last year, an astrologer so brilliant and empathetic that he has a two-year waiting list for readings. They – and the Full Moon in Cancer – remind us that whatever we hope to achieve in the New Year, we will find our best and fullest success by treating the people around us with tenderness and nurturing. That’s thereal bottom line – and if we protect that, then the balance sheet will take care of itself.

And here’s Astrograph’s (www.astrograph.com) take on the current astrological happenings…

With Friday’s Full Moon we reach an important stage in this pivotal end-of-year period. This is an especially significant moment in time, one week after the 2012 Day and just a few days before the New Year, Monday the 31st at midnight, and featuring the perfection of the Saturn-Pluto sextile that has come along in this Winter 2012 time frame to add its weight to the on-going cycle of Uranus and Pluto. Massive transformation is the theme, as current events continue to call to our attention, and as our own instincts also reveal when we take the opportunity to tune in – as Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter puts it, to “close our eyes to see.” And the individual and societal mandate for change that we so poignantly feel actually represents our own best interest. We must, in the final analysis, allow to drop away whichever of our dysfunctional behaviors that we can identify as no longer serving our real needs.

There is in fact an enormous focus on Pluto in Friday’s chart, and as the year turns over. At the moment of the Full Moon, the Sun conjuncts Pluto within a mere two degrees, while the Moon opposes; Jupiter in Gemini makes an exact quincunx to the midpoint of Sunand PlutoSaturn in Scorpio remains in mutual reception to Pluto and also in extremely close sextile, exact within a few minutes of a degree, thus greatly emphasizing both of these powerful planetary energies for change. Pluto in the social sign of Capricorn presages the radical transformation of cultural structures. Saturnbrings hardship and lessons to whatever sign it occupies. In Scorpio, the lessons are all about emotional connection with others around us, and within ourselves as well. Being in closer touch with ourselves at the deepest possible level is one way of conceptualizing the cultural shift that we are in the midst of now, and through to the end of the decade. When we witness the tragedy of schoolhouse assassins failing to get the emotional help that they need it speaks to all of us. And when we see social services potentially curtailed, placing the most vulnerable among us at greater risk, in order to keep the wealthiest in better financial health, it forces us to pause and consider priorities.

The Full Moon opposition from the nurturing sign of Cancer versus the Capricorn Sun brings issues of private and public, self and other, directly to our inner dialog. Jupiter, planetary archetype of spiritual faith and fundamental optimism in our choices, is also a particularly dominant factor right now. We as a society are looking ahead to the future, and attempting to discern where we are headed. And yet the social organism is nothing more than the sum of individuals. Each one of us has the emblematic power to make the choices that as a society we will live with for years and perhaps for decades to come, and the sustaining power of Spirit is working along with us to guide us through.

At the time of this Full Moon, the Moon in Cancer makes a Grand Trine in Water with Saturn in Scorpio and withChiron in Pisces so that our emotions are easily aroused and deeply motivated. Also, the Sabian Symbol forPluto‘s degree in Capricorn speaks of unfamiliar energies that we need to explore: “An albatross feeding from the hand of a sailor.” Indeed, through this Full Moon, we are getting in closer touch with our orphaned animal nature, our instinctual side. We are probing for answers to our collective dilemma where we must: on the inside. As we come though the transformationally oriented end of a potent year, we do well to remember that we have within us, by a simple shift in attitude, the ability to change and improve our world.

# 8 – And some input from Abraham…

“Metabolism is vibrational response to your moment in time. Metabolism is the way the Energy is moving through your body. And so, everything is in response to the way you feel — everything is. Everything is mind over matter. Every disease is mental first. Everything is about thought. Everything is about vibration. Everything is about the way you feel. Practice scenarios that feel good—and never mind reality. Reality is only a brief moment in time that you keep repeating.”— Abraham

# 4 – Well, 12-12-12 and 12-21-12 are fast approaching and this astrological forecast for December from astrograph.com gives insight into the forces at play…

The Astrology of December features JupiterSaturnChironUranusNeptuneand PlutoMercury is also still recovering from its recent retrograde, up to the time of the mid-December New MoonSaturn strongly aspected Uranusat the time of the Solar Eclipse from the middle of last month that began the current lunation cycle, and that aspect, an inconjunct, continues into December, as Saturn begins to closely aspect Pluto as well by mid-month.

The Uranus-Pluto square, even though not quite as dramatically close as it was over the summer months, is therefore still very much with us as the year draws to a close; this collision of powerful outer planets is now augmented for this brief end-of-year period by the aspects to Saturn, which is similar to their combination during the height of the revolutionary sixties.

Additionally, Uranus stations to direct motion on the very day of the December 13th New Moon. Considering the joint aspects Uranus makes to both Pluto and to Saturn, we will likely witness the polarities of the present time continue and even become more insistent. All we can do is watch and wait, and try to stay calm, following the maxim that “whatever we resist persists;” and recognizing that the oppositional activity only increases the polarization.

Neptune in the first degree of Pisces is activated by the ongoing retrograde period of Mercury, now direct but still regaining its lost zodiacal longitude, and in crossing back into Sagittarius on December 10th, squaringNeptune for the third time in this fall period. Neptune, antithetical to Saturn in its own way, as are the other two outer planets, remains in parallel with Saturn for the entire month. We have the conflict of over-idealization versus hard-nosed reality, but we may want to ask ourselves, which is the actual illusion’

Chiron, the Wounded Healer, is still hanging around in the midst of these configurations as well, as we have been outlining in previous months. He remains in close semi-sextile with Uranus and caught up in the aspect from Saturn that kicked off this current cycle, plus hit by a forming square from Mercury at the time of the December 13th New Moon. We are therefore continuing to study ourselves at deep levels, and attempting to move past our early conditioning and, indeed, our wounding, all through this time frame and especially in the first two weeks of the current month.

Jupiter is also prominent in the current mix of energies, since he squares Chiron increasing strength through the month of December, and on into mid-January, while at the time of the Last Quarter Moon of December 6th being strongly aspected by the Sun, Moon and Pluto/Mars. This brings a touch of wild-eyed optimism to the first part of December, but this could switch to a more pessimistic take on things by the 21st, when the Winter Solstice Sun in its entrance into Capricorn witnesses a perfect yod formation to Jupiter from Saturn and Pluto, implying a certain loss of faith, or at least an occasion over the period of time leading up to the Christmas holiday when our faith will be sorely tested.

Saturn with Pluto, even in a mild sextile, can be dire and perhaps even a bit drastic, as the capitalist world struggles to wriggle out of the trap that it has set for itself, and as we as individuals follow along on the basis of the same metaphor. As always, we each in our own way and on our individual timetables are striving for the light through this time of the shortest days of the year; the good news is that, just when things seem darkest, the pendulum shifts, the days grow longer, and we continue to journey up and over, following the spiral path of our destiny.

(In the 3rd paragraph it says “all we can do is watch and wait,” but I say there’s a lot we can do, like cultivating an attitude of gratitude and envisioning a world worthy of us all! :-))

# 5 – In the true spirit of the season, here’s an inspiring story about compassion, caring, and blind cats…

Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary in St. Pauls, North Carolina opened its doors seven years ago as a home for cats who were scheduled for euthanasia at animal shelters simply because they couldn’t see. The organization’s founder Alana Miller is a former army brat who traveled extensively growing up, but suddenly found herself more rooted than ever when she adopted her first blind cat many years ago.

“He showed me just how normal a blind cat can be,” Alana said. “Then I adopted a second and a third and a fourth.”

Alana was surprised to see how easily blind cats could live in a household, even at the busiest time in her life when she was operating a home-based daycare center and toys were sprinkled throughout the house. Alana found that the debris from the children didn’t bother the cats at all and she was troubled by the fact that so many blind cats simply aren’t given a chance due to misconceptions about their needs.

In 2005, Alana took a giant leap and created a full fledged sanctuary for blind cats with the promise that they would never again be tossed out of their homes.

“Back when we started our shelter, there was just no place for them,” Alana explains. “If you were unadoptable, you were just dead. Somebody has to say ‘enough’. Once a cat arrives here, they’re done. No more being bounced around.”

There are some 90 cats living in the sanctuary today and life here is anything but dull. Supporters from near and far send gifts for the cats and as for the catnip supply, well, let’s just say, let the games begin. Cats young and old roam freely here, diving through tunnels, climbing perches and rolling around with their favorite toys. Take a look:

The Sanctuary Shares These Facts About Blind Cats:

  • Blind cats are cats that just happen to not be able to see. They have no idea they are blind. They know they are cats. They act like cats.
  • Blind cats can do pretty much everything that a seeing cat can do. Blind cats can climb trees (they tend to back down feet first to get down), climb on cabinets, etc.
  • Blind cat guardians should try to stay somewhat consistent on the important things, like the litter box and food. For the rest of the house, live normally; the cats will go around things. If you watch a blind cat, you will see that they point their whiskers out so the whiskers will brush against something typically before they hit it.
  • If you pick up your blind cat and move him/her from point A to point B, try to put your cat down where they have a good idea of where they are: at their litter box, their food, or where the floors have different textures. My daycare playroom and dining room went from carpet to tile. If I wanted Louie to leave the playroom, I would put him so his front feet were on the tile and back were still on the carpet… then he knew where he was.

Reasons Cats Go Blind

“A lot of people do not realize that a cat can become blind from not being wormed,” Alana explains. “I was shocked when my vet told me that. Apparently worms will migrate around the cat’s body, including up behind the eyes where they destroy optic nerves.”

“A cat can also become blind from illness,” Alana continues. “Eye infections from upper respiratory infections, hyperthyroid, diabetes and high blood pressure can all bring on blindness. If your cat is sneezing, coughing and eyes are getting goopy, get to the vet for antibiotics. If your cat is eating like crazy and losing weight or drinking water like there is no tomorrow RUN to the vet. If your cat goes blind overnight, run to the vet. Insist that your vet checks the cat’s blood pressure. If it is caused by hypertension, the blindness often will reverse if treatment is begun immediately.”

# 6 – And some Abraham to end on…

“As you imagine and visualize and verbalize your new story, in time you will believe the new story, and when that happens, the evidence will flow swiftly into your experience. A belief is only a thought you continue to think; and when your beliefs match your desires, then your desires must become your reality.

There is no physical body, no matter what the conditions, that cannot achieve an improved condition. Nothing else in your experience responds as quickly as your own physical body to your patterns of thought.”– Abraham
