MARS RETROGRADE IN VIRGO

Everyone has heard (and talks) about Mercury retrograde. Lesser known are Mars & Venus retrogrades, joining Mercury retrograde this year. Mars retrograded Jan. 23, a long three-month Mars retrograde. Mars, retrograding only every two years (51-84 days), is very significant for humanity. Mars provides us with the energy, assertion, desires and the will to exist, to be and to act. Mars rules our ability to proceed into the world. Mars, god of war and warriors, gives us strength and directs us outward into experiences that build our personality to become a strong vehicle for the Soul. Mars works with Aries (taking risks to bring forth all things new), with Scorpio (provides the Nine Tests of the Personality) and with Sagittarius (the devic angelic beings that give our bodies life – life force). Mars in Virgo means that our thinking (Virgo works with Mercury) will be internalized; there will be a quickening within us (new life). We will consider appropriate actions to take when the retrograde is over (April 13). With Mars retrograde in Virgo we ponder upon beliefs and opinions, health, nutrition, medicine and how to better serve. Animals are ruled by Virgo. We notice the animal kingdom becomes irritated, often ill and that many in the animal kingdom die when Virgo is involved. Hospitals and military staff, social workers, labor unions all may experience unrest. We remember that humanity works within Ray 4, a new harmony resulting from conflict and chaos. TIPS FOR TODAY:

# 1 – An update on the new moon in Aquarius from Astrograph.com…

January 22nd New Moon

This New Moon, coming up late on Sunday evening, January 22nd on the American West Coast, or early Monday morning – like all the New Moons lately – triggers both Jupiter and Uranus on the one hand, and theChiron-Neptune combination on the other, making it yet another in a long sequence of potent New Moon configurations. Since this New Moon is in Uranus’ own sign of Aquarius, and closely squares Jupiter, the presence of these two planetary archetypes is very pronounced and even startling in their immediacy. Jupiter is a particularly appropriate archetype for combining with Uranus since its exuberance matches that of the trickster planet. Jupiter amps up whatever he touches and Uranus does not need much encouragement to get way out there. Surprising events await us and unexpected epiphanies that will come to us as a result of keeping our eyes wide open.

The Sabian symbol of this New Moon supports this idea. It is “A deserter from the navy” and Marc Edmond Jones has this to say: “the disregard of all consequences for the sake of immediate liberation of the spirit. … Except as a man creates his own allegiances, his destiny has no depth.” This is a message that we all need to take to heart right now since this is in fact 2012 and the time for action is at hand. As Bob Dylan remarked in song during the sixties, the seed period for this turbulent decade of our own:

Come senators, congressmen please heed the call
Don’t stand in the doorway don’t block up the hall
For he that gets hurt will be he who has stalled
There’s a battle outside and it’s ragin’.
It’ll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin’.

In order for our destiny to have depth, as Marc Edmond Jones puts it, we must stand and be counted, and be counted upon as we ride the rapids of the cultural changes that are upon us, or else be discounted in the world process that we are in any case all part of.

Another factor aspected by this New Moon is Chiron, in conjunction with Neptune and aspected as well by a stationing Mars. With Mars turning to retrograde motion we are driven to look inside ourselves for answers and to meditate on our true motivation. Similarly Chiron, the Wounded Healer, contains within its symbolism the theme of tuning to the inner voice, understanding and forgiving ourselves at the deepest possible level for our reactions to the ancient wrongs that were done to us in the name of socialization and of parenting, in spite of our actual needs. We do well when we can proceed with the resolution to no longer allow ourselves to be beholden to a dead and increasingly irrelevant past; and to heed rather the beat of the distant yet distinct drummer that no longer moves in lock-step with consensus thinking. This is the voice inside us that stands for truth and for moving on with our lives in peace and wholeness, in spite of everything.

AQUARIUS NEW MOON: Let the Dragon Roar!

Since Mars entered Virgo on November 11, my 83-year-old neighbor Lucille has been making demands. She claimed that runoff from my rain gutters was compromising her retaining wall. So I removed the dirt and plants closest to her wall and put in a costly drainage system. After several encounters in which she insisted more be done, we resolved the situation. Or so I thought.

Last week, I came home to find a stranger in my yard, ripping out my plants. I installed a fence. Claiming the fence was on her property, Lucille demanded I take it down.

I tried to transcend my anger. I blessed my neighbor and affirmed divine justice.  Yet nothing made me feel better, or prompted her to back off. Now, I’m ready to take the next step: assessing the property line to determine my legal rights.

Welcome to Mars turning retrograde in nitpicky Virgo! The warrior planet will be retracing its steps from Jan. 23 to April 13, and continues to energize this earthy sign until July 3. Altogether, it will spend almost eight months in Virgo, helping us channel our anger and frustration, get organized, heal ancient wounds, and find constructive ways to right personal, corporate and planetary wrongs.

Hot tip: Clutter-busting your home, office and car will help keep your vital energies flowing, especially in the “stuckest” times when Mars is stationary (Jan. 11 to Feb. 6, and March 31 to April 29).

The Aquarius New Moon (Jan. 22, 11:39 p.m. PST) occurs just hours before Mars’ retreat into the underworld. Astrology update, dulse and radiation, Abraham and Guy Finley

# 1 – The latest astrological update from Astrograph.com…

January 16th Last Quarter Moon

This Last Quarter Moon, taking place in the early morning hours of Monday, January 16th, ushers in a week-long period of reflection when we are profitably engaged in mulling over the events that have transpired during the previous three weeks of the Sun-Moon cycle. There is likely to be plenty of food for thought for each one of us, as indicated by the powerful symbolism of the starry messengers that we rely upon for cosmic guidance as we attempt to navigate these intense times. As we slow down to take stock during this last phase of the Capricornlunation, we are also brought into thoughtful re-alignment by the Saturn-Neptune trine that is still quite active as Neptune begins to slip toward its entrance into its own sign of Pisces over the next few weeks. The dour restriction of Saturn is coming from a more realistic place than numinous Neptune, and tends to bring his fanciful flights down to earth, but this is not necessarily always so. The imaginative and cosmically sensitive outer planet energy of Neptune can equally hold sway and tend to confuse the practicality of the situation so that it is difficult to tell at any particular moment which end, so to speak, is really and truly up.

Saturn is strongly configured at this juncture, since it is conjuncted by the Moon and squared by the Sun just as it slows down, preparing to retrograde early next month, and comes within 2 degrees of an opposition to Jupiteras it does so. This is another powerful planetary amalgam, even though this last pass opposition to Jupiter never completes; in the weeks to come, Saturn retrogrades in the final degree of Libra and Jupiter moves on in Taurus. Over this period there could be reminders of the last time these two planetary archetypes were opposed, in late March of 2011, so that echoes of issues that were brought up at that time might return to haunt us in these next few weeks as Saturn makes its transition.

We are tuning to the inner in more ways than one, since Chiron in early Pisces is conjunct Neptune, and is also activated by Venus and by Mars during this interesting time period. Relationships are on our minds, and as well the personal blueprints of connection that we bring to the table of each potential interaction, scripts that are anchored in the past but not set in stone there, because we have the ability, by looking more closely into these ancient patterns, to recognize the places inside where we are stuck, and to move beyond them.

All these planetary combinations speak to the polarity of inner versus outer, and we win when we acknowledge the power of both of these modes of living and of soulful inquiry. There is neither one nor the other that is more important or more relevant for our day-to-day activities and decision making. When we accede to our deepest promptings we emulate wholeness and our outer lives proceed in greater alignment with what Spirit is asking of us. And when we take the time to examine more fully our internal motivations and past actions, we proceed with greater confidence and with renewed vigor into the unfolding joy of each present moment.

2012 in itself is an activation for your being, if you imagine that you needed a key to open up your spiritual being, soul and sacred abilities, 2012 is the name and form of the key. It is extremely important for many to realise that 2012 has been programmed with many energies, codes, understandings and activation, it is like a crystal that will download information into your being. When we speak of 2012 in this way I am speaking of the word rather than the year. The word 2012 is the label of an energetic period of change, so both the energetic change and the word are linked together as one. By saying to yourself the word 2012 you can begin this activation within your being. When people say to each other, ‘Happy 2012 or Happy New Year, have a great 2012,’ they are speaking that activation for others, they are bringing the activation into the auric field and attention of others, as well as themselves.  Everything has been encoded so that the transition cannot be missed and can be experienced as fully as possible. You can try this for yourself, repeat out loud, 2012, then just observe your energy, it may become more energised with new energies beginning to activate. Many people all over the world will be saying the word 2012 which will cause a tremendous activation within Mother Earth and will mean that you are also supporting each other.  Throughout the year people will be saying, seeing and writing 2012 until it is so engrained on their consciousness, this in itself will allow for many activations to occur throughout the year of 2012 individually for humanity and as a community. 

With this in mind I wish to encourage you to begin to use the word 2012 as an activation for your own energy and soul but also as a positive and healing activation for the Earth. If positive words are placed with the word 2012 and we perceive the word 2012 as an activation or holding the purpose of activation, then any word can be activated from within your being and on the Earth.  If we also add the word,’ I am,’ this can hold a tremendous power of empowering yourself, anchoring and aligning with the Creator. 

For example,  I am 2012 Love, Which will hold the meaning of,
I empower within me, I exist as the Creator, I anchor, the activation of love.
This affirmation is being achieved for yourself and will also be anchored into the consciousness of humanity. 2012 can be used as an activation of many energies within and around you, it can also be used to empower what you wish and desire for yourself and humanity. With this affirmation you can begin to empower and create the reality that you wish to experience upon the Earth now.  11-11-11 was about creating unity between humanity, with a greater sense of unity this offers a powerful foundation for humanity to activate and create the qualities that they desire to experience in their realities and upon the Earth in 2012 and beyond. Maybe you always wished that the Creator would give you a paint brush and say to you, paint whatever you want and it shall be yours. This is your opportunity to do so, because others around the world will be achieving it therefore multiplying its power of manifestation.  Allow yourself to comprise a list of affirmations that reinforce your desires for 2012 for you as an individual and for humanity as a whole. You can read and empower these affirmations daily to allow the energies to activate from within your being, integrate into your reality and into the realities of others. 2012 is destined to be the era of love and of connecting once more with your original source, but it is far more magnificent because although 2012 already holds a purpose you can use the activation energies of 2012 to activate what you wish to manifest or experience. Essentially with focus you can create the reality you wish to experience and you can awaken a tremendous healing process for you and the world.

Above are examples, know that by simply repeating these you can activate the qualities within your being aligned and supported by the Creator. I hope that you will discover and explore this for yourself and know that now is a very powerful time for manifestation. It is essential for you to know in your mind with clarity what you wish to manifest and anchor into your reality for you and humanity. Please remember that your efforts and devotion will always support all beloved souls upon the Earth in their spiritual alignment.

# 1  – A look at the astrology of the year and the week ahead from Chris Flisher…

As we enter 2012 we should view our present situation and remember.  We are about to witness the shifting energies of several powerful planets in Cardinal Signs.  Cardinal Signs are all about initiation, shifts, and newness.  Their are four Cardinal Signs in astrology; Cardinal Fire (Aries), Cardinal Water (Cancer), Cardinal Air (Libra), and Cardinal Earth (Capricorn).  These are the signs, that when planets enter, things begin to happen.  Depending on the sign and the planet, we can feel an amazingly powerful impact.  This means action and change of the highest order.

Let’s begin with Uranus in Aries.  First, Aries is the leader of the Zodiac and is the herald of all new things.  This is the highest point of initiation and is directed by the ruling planet of Mars.  Mars imbues all visitors with courage and conviction.  Uranus has gone direct (forward motion) in Aries as of December 10, 2011.  This is the planet of revolution, rebellion, innovation and invention.  When you see Uranus enter into Aries you are likely to witness boldness of great magnitude.  Governments toppling, organizations overthrown, new inventions and amazing breakthroughs. (NOTE: Uranus first entered Aries on March 11, 2011 for the first time in 84 years.  This was the date of the Japan earthquake and subsequent Tsunami.)

Next, we have Pluto in Capricorn.  Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and presents change and initiation through foundational exercises.  Building and rebuilding earth-bound structures and fundamental organizations.  When Pluto, the planet of transformation moves through Capricorn it tears down structure, organization, dogmas, and tenets then realigns them for the greater good of humankind.  Banking, insurance, political parties, large religious groups are all victims of Pluto. By July 4th, the fiery planet of action, aggression, ambition will enter the sign of Cardinal Air (Libra).  Mars is the firebrand of action and will be moving into the Air sign which fuels Mars’ inner volatility to great affect (air feeds fire.)  This will, then place, Mars in an opposition to Uranus and at a square to Pluto.

All of this activity will most likely then be triggered by the ingress of the Sun into Cancer, the Cardinal Water sign and Sun sign of the United States.   So as this stacks up we will have Mars, Uranus, Pluto and the Sun all sitting in tight degrees of Cardinal signs.  Action and immense progress are the key words.  This is not the time to run to fear, but rather fall into the arms of change.  How this effects YOU will be determined by the placement of the Cardinal Signs in your individual chart.  The houses that host these signs are most likely to be impacted.  We will most likely see great events occur as this cardinal Cross yaws into place.  If you have questions about your chart, contact me at chris@chrisflisher.com.

Week of January 2: The Sun warms to Pluto in Capricorn and the days begin to lighten  ever so gradually.  We can begin to feel the groundswell of momentum  building towards a bold expansion.  It may be tangible electricity  amidst the swirl of distraction we face on a daily basis.  Perhaps the  time has come to put down the interruptions and contemplate what is to  come?  We will likely experience a see-sawing frustration over expansion  and constraint as Saturn and Jupiter work to oppose each other with  their own energies.  This may be felt as “hurry-up and stop” which,  then, causes us to reconsider our options.  Can we satisfy both urges?
